I have 4 ring cameras and I have never had a real issue with them great quality great customer service the only thing I don’t like is if it’s -25 or colder they will not work at all I had that problem last winter but other then that I would buy any day the prices are great compared to other companies like Telus I was paying over 60 bucks a month plus payments on there cameras and stuck in a contract for 2 years ring has no contracts and you just buy the cameras there so cheap that you can’t go wrong

We have purchased multiple of these solar-powered cameras. The only time it does not work is when it is extremely cold (> -20c), they are a great addition to any home security.

I like the camera and solar panel but the battery was useless. I charged the battery for over a week before I put it out side.
It showed 91% after install, the solar panel was recognized by the camera so I thought all was ok even though it was about -23c. I checked the camera about 4 hrs later and it said it was in low battery mode. Later that night I received a message from ring about the low battery. The next morning I checked and the battery was charging That night, last night the battery was at 3% so low battery mode again.
I believe the battery to be defective for it to discharge that quickly even though in the house it did not lose any charge after a week of sitting

I replaced my Blink cameras with these Ring cameras but I have been disappointed so far. These Ring cameras are very large in size and they use abnormally large rechargeable batteries. I ordered three of these and one arrived with a defective battery pack (the plug for charging it was falling out!). Not a good start. I opted for the battery type rather hard wired because this was what I had with my Blink cameras and it provided video monitoring even if the power went out. I added the solar panel option because I also used this with my Blink cameras and it meant no batteries were required in the camera and it worked perfectly.. The solar panels for these Ring cameras seem to not charge the large battery pack in the camera (you have to leave the battery in the camera even with the solar panel) very much at all with one of my cameras running out of battery power after less than 2 weeks of being installed. The size of these cameras also makes them anything but discreet (my Blink cameras code go unnoticed unless you really looked for them). The Blink cameras had continuous issues with suddenly disconnecting from their base station even though I have a powerful mesh network for my wifi hence my replacement of them with these Ring cameras but, given the poor quality of their batteries and the very poor performance of their solar panels, I would not recommend the wireless versions of these Ring cameras and I would not recommend installing them anywhere within reach because they are very noticeable once installed (they are so bulky that they feel like very old technology). Oh, and the advertised colour night vision is not enabled by default and, once enabled, you are warned that it will consume extra power from those bulky rechargeable batteries in your cameras!
