What can you say about a battery? This one revived our ageing Dyson portable vacuum cleaner, as hoped. It fit perfectly, the vacuum works perfectly, and the price was right. We'll have to see about longevity, but after a few months I can't see any reason it shouldn't go at least as long as the original Dyson battery. (I've entered a placeholder rating of 3 stars for both 'longevity' and 'battery life' - synonymous, in this case.)
A note about installation: you absolutely need to remove the clear plastic housing of the dust collecting chamber, in order to get at one of the mounting screws for the battery unit. Ideally, one would want to pull the cylindrical plastic housing quite frequently, to clear dust from the difficult-to-reach parts at the top. Unfortunately, the way the thing removes is not obvious - and getting it back on is even more difficult. All I can say is take your time, keep an eye on how the plastic tabs of the housing fit into the grooves on the handle. Fiddle with it for a few minutes, and it will fall into place.
