The tuner won’t turn on?

If you remove the plastic film under the battery, you may try to slightly pull the spacer at the bottom of battery slot and slightly press the metal piece which to fix the battery, and check if the tuner could be turned on.

What setting is used to tune a banjo?

"Chro." or "Bj." setting is for 4/5/6 strings Banjo. Please be noted that you must choose the correct setting. Hope it helps.

What size battery is used in this tuner?

A lithium battery, CR2032, 3V.

I think I paid something like $7.00 CDN for this tuner. And for the money I'm quite impressed with it. The clamp holds it on the guitar head well and the screen is big enough for even an old guy like me to be able to see easily. I have an internal tuner in my guitar and I find this little thing more accurate and easier to read. So I use it more often than my internal tuner and get a better tuned sound out of my Guitar. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
