As you can see in my old ring light, the USB cord has started to break. The wire is exposed, so it shorts out.
Again, I'm quite happy with my new one and I think it will work well for me! Highly recommend and well worth the extra $20 or so for a real plug in my opinion. 😊

This is a great ring light that works very well as described
I've used a few different ring lights and this is one of the better ones I have tried.
Like all larger ring lights none of them are very portable due to its size and this one is no different.
Circumference is exactly 12" with the attached control head measuring 15".
Movement and rotation is as free as you'd expect as-like any camera that is mounted on a tripod.
It is nice that this ring light offers 3 different temps with brightness levels but I tend to only use the 6500k setting at 100% and let the camera adjust f-stop, aperture and speed (manually or auto)
It should be noted this ring light can also be used for tabletop photography.
The gooseneck is fairly stiff and doesn't offer horizontal pivoting.
The entire ring light is light enough in weight that it can be used hand-held. My only beef is when using it hand-held, it's easy to toggle light settings as you tend to hold it by the ring light body where the touch settings are located.
The included remote is handy for adjusting temps and brightness.
I like the fact the right light has both a hotshoe and standard 1/4" mounts.
I can mount this on top of my Nikon and /or use my sturdier Manfrotto tripod
Speaking of tripod, this is what I don't like about this kit.
The tripod is very light but also fairly weak with plastic/nylon collars and clamps.
The legs have a bit of flex and not very sturdy especially when the ring light is mounted with your cellphone attached.
Side note: Above supplied photo, I used velcro to attach the remote to the back of the ring lights control head so that when using this for tabletop photography/video either handheld or on tripod I can easily adjust the lighting settings without having to fumble with the remote in my other hand.
Hope this helps others that have bought this ring light.

I love this ring-light starter kit for everyone that needs to upgrade their lighting setup.
The ring light itself is very nice and bright and can fully light a person in front of the camera. I wish I had treated myself and purchased this a long time ago.
The amount of things this kit comes with is amazing. I use this for myself and my husband and my son love this light too.
It is still sturdy with so many moving parts. The tripod legs fold out to be good length for stability and the material does not feel cheap either. The variable colour temperature control are easy to operate and work very well.
It ranges from 3000 to 6500 Degrees Kelvin, so you can match it to the existing light in the room. I’m a bit picky when it comes to colour temp so this is a good thing.
The video gives you a sample of the range in temperature. There are also 10 levels of brightness so you can dial that in just the way you like it.
Its great for your phone but I wouldn’t try to attach a heavier camera.
The locks are plastic so you’ll want to be a little careful with them and not over tighten or you may strip them.
I have found that it's sometimes hard to get good lighting in some parts of our home. The result is me fiddling around a lot with our lights and having to move around the house. I got this light so that I could more consistently stay in one place and still have good lighting.
Its great for vlogs, selfies and just an addition set of light if you want to expand your RGB setup on your room.

Fairly easy set up, had the whole unit set up in roughly 10minutes. It arrived partially charged. In order to provide as much info to you. I went ahead and charged for the recommended 118minutes in order to get a full, complete charge.
The included 24W DC Charger is sturdy with approximately 8foot of cord. A nice addition for those times you need to use the ring light and meant with the dreaded dead battery. So far though, I will add after several hours of use over the past week or so, it’s holding the charge well and as indicated. A welcome change from my old, broken one. It required to be plugged in for use.
The included remote will take you through multiple light settings. It indicates a range of 30 to be exact. With 3 color temps, each at 10 brightness levels. When clicking through slowly, it’s noticeable. But for my needs warm to cool, bright to dim works just fine. Power on and off works as expected. Remote is small and slim. Easily keep handy in your pocket or held in hand depending on use.
Tripod is great! Extends upwards to about 6.5 feet. Keep in mind that includes the 12” ring light. Plenty tall to get the job done. The base extends at a wide range. Providing enough stability to lessen any worry of tipping over. Height adjustment is straightforward, several little screw knobs that tighten securely without issue to keep desired heights in place.
The 12” ring light with phone holder screws on sturdy. It mounts with a standard 1/4” opening. Making it quite versatile, with functioning options on other stands as well.
The phone holder extends upwards to 3.8” which is enough for my current large Pro Max phone. Performed well and stayed in place given my phone is also on the heavier side, as phones go.
With provided 180 degree motion, additional tilt options. There is enough adjustment to provide lighting wherever needed.
Lightweight, durable and fairly compact design makes this a winner for me. Would have been a nice little surprise to have a small nylon carrying case when on the go. But it’s all good, I’m beyond pleased and happily recommend the 12” Ring Light by QEUOOIY.
