The Y near my place put in a new vending machine. There a protein bar with 12 grams of protein costs $2.5 and a protein bar with 30 grams of protein costs $3.00. The 50 cent difference is huge in terms of protein per dollar but that is not the issue here. The issue is that you are spending a lot of money on a protein bar. I use amazon quite often and was thrilled to find out that they sold these protein bars on here. Roughly 20 grams of protein for $1.33 seems like a really good deal. If you subscribe and save then it is a bit lower as well which I have done. 6 protein bars for a total of $8 is one of the best deals you will fine (even costco cant beat it). I like dark chocolate so I decide to order this one.Even my cat approves!I took one star off just because of the taste. I am more of a "eat to live" kind of person but there is a bit of a chemical taste that comes from these bars. It is not super strong and it does not prevent me from eating them but it is there and I know a few people who wont eat these bars specifically because of that taste.

I found these Dark Chocolate Coconut flavoured protein bars to taste great and have a pleasant texture, unlike some of the other low-sugar / low-carb / high protein bars. The price (on sale) is very competitive with other bars and so these are very good value. I'll buy them again whenever they're on sale.

For me, coconut extracts have an almost astringent, sour taste and this is very present in these bars. They are edible, and for someone who doesn't have as strong a reaction to this flavouring these will be fine. For protein bars, they aren't too pressed food tasting so that's a plus. Might try another flavour next time.

I’m gonna say I’m not a fan of the coconut. But they were still edible (barely). My favourite flavours are the chocolate/peanut/caramel, the strawberry and the birthday cake flavours. These bars are good for a quick boost/meal replacement and they are generally quite affordable compared to other protein bars.
