A Loyal Customer
I bought my first cell phone back in August 2019, a used one, just to use as an mp3 player. I later decided to search for the best deal I could find for cell service since I now had a cell phone. I stumbled upon Public Mobile. I found that they had the best deal I could find and an exceptional rewards program. Since then I have signed up for another better plan and for less money. They still have a good rewards program, but honestly they used to have a better one, but recently changed it. It is still ok though. They also give away free stuff from time to time and offer promotions. They also give you ways to earn credits to your account so you can help pay your bill, such as participating in the Community, and an anniversary gift. I think it's still the best deal in town.Should you sign up, don't forget to enter in a referral code, at the bottom of the screen where you enter your payment info, for a bill credit to your account. It's a win-win! My referral code is 05QEXN (that's a zero 1st, not a letter o) should you need one. I hope you enjoy!

This was just what I was looking for and it's less expensive than getting it through public mobile retailers. Worked like a charm and was easy to set-up.

July 2022 update
After more than a year of service - we are still happy with Public Mobile (Bonus - the service did not go down with the Rogers outage). We love the option to refer customers and have it contribute towards our bill. Thank you to anyone who uses our code!

Public Mobile appears to be owned by Telus and has been around since 2010. Their website is informative and user friendly. Certified pre-owned phones are available to purchase or you can bring your own device.
We decided to try Public Mobile for a first phone number for our son. We appreciated the low cost, talk and text option and no contract.
Initially I used the website chat to ask a few questions. The customer service person answered all questions we had. They even recommended purchasing the SIM card from Amazon as it was cheaper and shipped quicker. They also provided a few other places to purchase from. Within Amazon, we did locate another seller for $15, that included the first month of service. From what we understood, you need to provide your personal details to the seller and they provide it to Public Mobile. We felt more secure providing this to Public ourselves, rather than a third party.
The card arrived within the week (2 sizes of SIM card) with step by step instructions on how to activate. We actually activated through a promotional email we had received. Check the Public Mobile website to see if there are any current promotions. This promo was for one month for $0. We were also able to input a referral code. This code gives us $10 bonus and the provider of the code gets $1 off their payment every 30 days for the duration we are a customer. (If you would like a code, please consider using PMM064). We were also able to input an additional code for a new activation. Each month you remain on Autopay, you also receive a $2 credit. There is also a Community rewards area to ear additional credit. So far- great value!
The step by step activation was simple to do. Enter contact details and a PIN and password. There is also an area to port a current phone number or select a new number. In the new number area, you could refresh the numbers to choose from quite a few different ones. Both area codes in our area were also made available to us.
Will update review as we use the card for services.

I love this company.
Cheap prices and quality service.
I have Public Mobile for 6 years or so now and I will never leave Public Mobile because I have had no issues during the whole time till present.
I refer people all the time.
I have several family members that use Public Mobile... and now my sister is going to get it because of the Canada-US promo they have now. She goes to the states quite a bit.
I will stay with Public Mobile forever!
Highly recommended.

Sim card as described worked perfectly. Create an account online, pick your plan, enter sim card number from sim card. Once all set up restart your phone. It took me 1 hour.

With this SIM card, my phone was up and running in less than 15 minutes. No need to visit a mobile provider store. Voice/data package pricing is reasonable and they have many options.

If you want any kind of customer service, avoid this company at all costs. I put the chip in my unlocked phone, registered it, got a number and everything. It doesn’t work. I tried to reach out to customer service, but no such thing exists, only chat bots.
In order to get a reply to a specific question you have to log in to your account & send a message, and hope you get a reply. Unfortunately for me, the app keeps telling me I didn’t enter the right email, so I can’t log into my account. Which is very strange because my registration details were sent to the same email.
I hate this mobile company, hate that I wasted $ and most importantly my time. I have replaced my credit card to avoid being charged for services I’m not using.
