Better then last version in most ways expect one
I have the previous version of this toothbrush (the black one in the photo) so I will do a comparison. The good: This one (white) is slightly more quiet. It seems to pulsate a little more for a slightly better clean but doesn't fell harsh. It's also noticeably lighter. Some people complain that its hard to turn on and off. I agree that a bit more pressure is required to press the button and for some this may not be ideal but for the vast majority of people it won't be a problem. Because the button is recessed it makes it great for travel because there is little chance the brush will turn on by itself while in a suitcase or backpack which is something Ive had issue with with the previous model. Just like the previous model the sound of the toothbrush changes if you press down too hard while cleaning letting you know to ease off. Timer works the same as previous version, 30 second intervals and 2 minutes.One odd thing is that the Amazon version has 3 cleaning modes (regular, sensitive, whitening), while this same Pro 1000 model with the exact same price in some local stores in Canada only has 1 cleaning mode. Can't explain it as the model number, box, price and look of the toothbrush are the exact same. You don't need to cycle through the modes to turn it off, you can simply hold the button for two seconds. The price is also reasonable for what you get especially if you get it at a slight discount.The bad: The grip like other reviewers mentioned. Its very slippery unlike the grip on the previous version which had a soft rubber portion on the front of the handle and the back had protruding lines. I really need to hold the grip tight in order for it not to start slowly sliding down especially when wet. Oral b definitely needs to improve the grip in their next update of this toothbrush. My guess is they saved money by making a very simple plastic grip but didn't think how it would affect the experience of using it. It's not a deal breaker but it's certainly a bit annoying. The battery is the same as the previous model, nickel metal hydrate. I read to extend the battery life the toothbrush should not be always charging. Wish the battery was lithium ion which has a longer lifespan and can go longer between chargers.
