Great affordable screen option
4 out of 5 stars
Great affordable screen option
I’m a graphic designer and used to working with 3 screens at a time. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of remote work and decided to try a portable screen to make up the difference. It’s a great little screen with great brightness! Colours are not extremely vibrant but that’s to be expected. I will use it mostly for emails and briefs because compared to my Mac’s retina the colours aren’t a true. Good enough!

I got my replacement unit.

ARZOPA Portable Monitor, 15.6'' 1080P FHD Laptop Monitor USB C HDMI Computer Display HDR Eye Care External Screen w/Smart Cover for PC Mac Phone Xbox Switch PS5 - S1 Table

this portable monitor is very handy and can fit in my laptop. In the package it comes with three different connector wires that you can depending in your need. I like the design: slim, bigger monitor, side ports and no need to charge it.

the monitor is really clear and its adjustable brightness is another great feature.

In the future i want to see this evolved to be wireless and touch screen.

this is very handy. i used this for my client meetings and presentation.

Price wise its affordable.

Where has this been all my travel work life? :D Seriously! I was worried the enthusiastic reviews were paid for (note - I'm not being paid either and there hasn't been a note or email to say "if you review well, you'll get ...") and so hesitated pulling the trigger until recently but - I have a crazy busy few weeks coming up where I'll also be travelling and thought "I have to try this"

It arrived in timely fashion and I gave it a test run today - I was prepared to have to go get adapters, because my MacBook Air is USB C only, but I pulled it out of its immaculately packed box, attaached the USB C to USB C cord to the display and then to the Mac and BOOM! I had two screens! No going into settings or hunting down adapters, or having to find the means to plug it into a separate power outlet (it runs off the Mac Power ... which admittedly I have plugged in) it literally just plugs in and works - 100% right out of the box. This is plug and play personified! Okay, I'll calm down, but only a little bit :D - you have the option to change the resolultion but I allowed it to select default settings and that works just fine for me - i feel like it matches my Mac comparably. I will note that the brightness level (dial on the side of the display monitor) works best for me turned all the way up, but then my mac is turned all the way up as well. There is a power block as well as two other cords (USB to USB C & HDMI to HDMI mini), but I have no need of them with this set up ... I wonder ... could I be really extra and connect it to my iMac and second display to have three screens? I'll dabble with that when I'm back from my travels.

For now - I'm full of glee at having a screen that's actually a tad wider than my MacBook Air yet just as slim and light and my middle age eyes will be able to work far more efficiently with the extra real estate of my screen vs tethering the ipad to it previously - that 'works' but I like being able to have three full size windows open with imessage on the side bar and with the iPad I have to use split screen etc and well, I'm just too old. I need a bigger screen. This is that screen :D

And, it's even cheaper today than when I bought it - whaaaat? Just kidding, no complaints about the price I paid. Well worth it!

I got this as a short-term solution while I’m away from my home office. I plugged it into my MacBook’s USB-C port and it worked right out of the box. It does what it needs to do as a second monitor: gives me enough space to see what I need to see, mostly Slack and other boring office applications.

One star docked because the colors are kinda crappy. You will not be able to use this if you do design or illustrative work unless you already know which colors you’ll be using and what they’ll look like on a properly calibrated monitor. If you’re working in G Suite you’ll have to remember that the default yellow is, in fact, quite bright and difficult to read because it’ll look totally fine on this monitor. This could be user error on my part but I fiddled around with the settings and nothing made the colors match my laptop.

This monitor is incredible! So lightweight, but durable. Great picture quality, easy connection, and has speakers built in! I didn't even know that when I purchased.
This screen is larger than my laptop at work. I attend and present at many meetings and this really makes it so much easier to share my one screen while taking notes on the other. I had this on my wishlist for months, and finally purchased while on sale.
Absolutely worth the money!

My first portable monitor, needed one for my laptop to use at school or my girlfriend's house. I just hate using one screen, especially my 14 inch laptop as I often need like 3 tabs open at the same time. Thought why not give this a try, I am impressed. My laptop is only one year old, around $1400 dollars so it's not bad by any means. But this monitor has better picture quality, bigger screen, and brighter than my laptop, and price is really reasonable. Also comes with a hard cover that can be used as a stand. Very happy with this purchase.

Just took it out of the box and used it for about an hour. I absolutely love it. It feels very high quality and I would've expected to pay double what I did (on sale for 129 CAD). It's quick, very light and thin, built well (body is metal with an anti glare screen), and the magnetic case holds it up nicely and looks sleek. This would have been perfect for bringing to the library if I was still a student, but ill get great use out of it when I travel.
Great work Arzopa, Just hoping it holds up over time!

Very happy with the monitor in general. Screen is clear and bright. Most negatives have been covered in other reviews. The covering is not very high quality but serviceable. The speakers are tinny, but I'm surprised it even has speakers frankly. It comes with a number of cables to make your set-up work, although not Displayport to USB-C. Fortunately I had one of these lying around. 99% of users will find the cables they need in the box however.

I bought this external to connect to my MacBook Air for university. As a person who reads a lot of academic articles, this monitor works perfectly. The sound quality is about a 4/5, but the other features are closer to 5/5. When I write papers AND can read an article at the same time, it makes things so much easier. Also, really great for the price.

UPDATE 11/04/2023:
After buying this monitor in April and using it HEAVILY - like, for 5+ hours every single day, carrying it with me everywhere from home to school to work - the monitor still works fantastic! I love this thing! It actually outlived the laptop I bought to use it with, lol (that laptop's hinge eventually broke).

Given that my laptop died and this monitor didn't, I actually used this monitor along with the Dex mode on my Samsung phone as the ONLY "computer" I had access to either at work or at home for a little over a month. That solution was good enough for me to at least complete some basic research during that time, as well as completely re-writing my resume to an entirely new format, so the monitor saved me a month of lost productivity!

My only recommendation is to buy a better high-end USB-C to USB-C cable if you plan to use this monitor extensively. I still use the USB-C cable included with this monitor to charge my phone - it's powerful enough to activate my Samsung's "Super Fast Charging Mode." But I now prefer to use this cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y874X96/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to connect my monitor to my PC, as it's a little thicker and less likely to be jostled.

Nonetheless, I can't complain at all - my $1400 smartphone came with an even worse, and much shorter, USB-C cable, so I think 3rd-party USB cables are the way to go for all electronics now days.

ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS:
I love this little monitor! It's VERY light (lighter than my S23 Ultra!), and the case it comes in is cute, protective, feels good to hold (with a leather texture for better grip), and most importantly, does a good job holding up the screen when it's in use in landscape mode. I've never had the screen fall down on its own. The case also comes off fairly easily if you want to do that intentionally (just push it to the side so the magnets lose their grip).

The screen is much thinner and lighter than I was expecting, which is great, because it's so thin it actually fits right inside my laptop bag along with my laptop, as you can see in the second image I uploaded. On the left is my laptop, on the right is the monitor.

It's actually basically the exact same size as my HP Envy 360 15.6" screen, so it's quick and easy to look back and forth between the monitors. All I need to unfold a complete workstation on the go is the included USB-C cable - that cable both powers the monitor and conveys the image signal. Importantly, however, do NOT lose this cable, as no other USB-C cable I own, even my nicer ones, seems to be able to replicate the trick of carrying the power and image simultaneously. I marked the cable with some orange duct tape so I don't mistake it for my other USB-C to C cables.

What's really cool is this monitor can actually work with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, immediately putting the phone into Dex mode, allowing me to basically replicate a workstation experience entirely off of my phone! Make sure if you do this, however, to plug a USB-C power cable into the second USB-C port of the monitor, as this will actually then begin to send power to your phone, charging it; otherwise, I tested it with Ampere, and running the monitor unpowered from your phone increases my S23 Ultra's power consumption from -320 mAh, meaning my phone should theoretically last for 15 hours on a full charge, to about 1000 mAh, meaning it would die in a little under 5 hours running the external monitor. When I connect my Samsung fast charger (which charges my S23 at a blistering 4,500-5,200 mAh) to the monitor when the monitor is plugged into my phone's USB-C port, my phone charges at a very fast 2,400 mAh - not as good as my special-made fast charger, but actually much, much faster than most cheap store-brand chargers, which I was honestly not expecting! So that's cool!

The sound on this monitor is louder than my phone, but quieter than my laptop; nonetheless, it's not a portable speaker, if you care about audio get a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. The monitor is easily bright enough to read comfortably in a room where I'm getting direct sunlight, but I'm not sure how it would be trying to read it in, like, direct sunlight standing in a field or something unusual like that. (Then again, basically every electronic device I've owned, especially my Switch, has eaten dirt in that exact scenario).

When I first got the monitor, I actually messed with the color settings considerably, then eventually realized I'd actually made it worse and returned it to the defaults, which are fairly true!

I don't think I'd want to use this monitor as a dedicated monitor for trying to, like, play a graphics-intensive first-person shooter or the like, but for casual gaming, video streaming, and my intended use, as an office computer, it's great! With the addition of only a few extra ounces to my laptop bag, I now have a second monitor I can use to play Udemy videos fullscreen while I have an IDE or note-taking software open full screen on my laptop, which has increased my productivity considerably. And if I don't need to run an IDE and think I'll just be doing basic MS Office tasks for the day, I can ditch my laptop entirely and use the AZORPA monitor along with my Samsung Galaxy S23U and a bluetooth mouse + keyboard (or a 2.4ghz mouse/keyboard plugged into a USB hub) as my entire computer workstation!

All in all, I honestly never even knew portable monitors had gotten to be this good, this cheap. If I had, I'd have bought one earlier! I'm honestly considering getting a second, so I can go full 1980s Hackerman in a Starbucks with a triple-screen setup, lol.

All in all, very satisfied with my purchase, at least after 1 month of daily usage and carrying the screen around in a laptop bag!

5.0 out of 5 stars Such an amazing bit of kit!

I build PCs and repair and restore old ones, so I am regularly chopping and changing between towers and laptops etc.
Up until now, I have been using my daughter’s TV as a monitor; dragging it out her room every day and hauling it around and putting it back. It was starting to annoy me (and her because I “always steal her stuff”…).
Just like magic this appeared and being recommended and my word, it is fabulous. It’s just like a large tablet in a case. So so easy to disconnect and move about, and it’s incredibly lightweight! No more of this dragging a physical screen!
The picture on it is way better than expected; the picture of our doggo (RIP bless him) shows his old cataracts and teeth in all their old glory.
It’s easy to plug in, literally comes with everything you need. I use a USB-C cable I own as it’s substantially longer so I can go further but it comes with a HDMI-Mini HDMI adaptor which is fab for going from PC to PC.
I didn’t even realise it had speakers! I was doing a stress test and tested a game on Steam, and I started hearing the noise from the game! It is tinny, I wouldn’t expect anything different! But the fact it comes with speakers to me is such a huge advantage because I never expected it. Any sound is such a bonus!
I can’t recommend this enough, it’s so easy to use!
