Like others have stated, it comes to you pre-used. It was shrink wrapped, with fluid all over it on the inside of the wrapping. This included the charging port, which is concerning. I've included some photos.
You can't access the coil to replace it or check if it's burnt. The rubber seal on the tank isn't very good and I can see it leaking in the future. Instead of you, yourself pulling the smoke out, there is a loud motor that pushes it out. The whole thing is made of cheap plastic parts, and it gets fairly hot when in use for an extended period of time.
The fan attachment that comes with it is also fairly loud, made of cheap plastic and not very impressive. Only has one mode. Charges separate from the main fog machine. There are exposed wires on the inside, and the wires are on the same side as the blades instead of safely tucked and hidden away on the opposite side. I've uploaded a photo of the inside of the fan.
The tubes are plastic, you just plug them directly onto the top of the tank. Except the tank is metal, and it gets hot...That tube is going to melt at some point. Same with the rubber hose.
More concerning -- the smoke that came out on our second use was terrible. As in we our eyes were stinging, we were coughing and suffocating. The first use, we had no issues and it didn't really smell of anything. Not sure what changed. Very disappointed, because as stated before, you can't even rule out it if it's the coil that's been burnt, nor can you replace it. You have to buy a whole new tank -- even the instructions state this.
It takes a little while to charge. I'm not sure about other complaints of it not working with various fast charge options, but it worked fine with mine. Also, I charged it with a full tank on its side -- no leaking to be had in my experience with it.
This does create some cool effects, creates some decent fog, and is a quick fix for creating a haze in a small room. However, I cannot recommend this product. It isn't safe to use, for the multitude of reasons I've described. It also isn't worth the price point. I'd rather spend the money on a DIY fog machine that won't suffocate myself and others.

This was pretty straight-forward. It all comes pretty much ready to go. As other reviews had mentioned, there appeared to be an oily substance on the tank after you unwrap it, but if you read the directions included, it states that is perfectly normal, and just to take a cloth or a tissue to wipe it up. The charger comes with it, so start with charging it first, you can fill the tank while it charges. One thing to be aware, the directions (and the carrying case it comes with) all state to keep the device upright at all times (even while in-use) which quite honestly causes some limitations, but as long as you do it right, it typically isn't a make-or-break deal. The longest part of the setup is to allow the device to charge (and once you fill the tank you're supposed to wait a certain amount of time)
Use: It comes with a few different attachment options for varying effects. They all have their pluses/minuses to them. I have yet to attempt to use the device outdoors. I suspect it should work as long as it isn't a windy day. For being a handheld device, I was able to cause my entire 900 sq foot basement to be like a bar in the 80s in about 10 minutes of on/off use for the above picture. Added bonus, it did not set off any fire alarms thankfully. The device heats up and is ready to operate in a matter of seconds after powering on, which is a huge perk in comparison to some of the larger fog machines.
Construction: The device is handheld and in the photos it does look like it may be constructed of cheap plastic, but to the contrary, it holds up quite nice, and feels sturdy. Just be aware of where you touch when the device is running as the coils do heat up. Under normal operation though, your hand shouldn't be there anyway.
Overall: This should be relatively adequate if you're limited on power, or time, or need something for products or just to add a little bit of an effect to a photograph or a scene of some sort.
The only drawback is the fact the device needs to remain upright, which can make storage interesting, but the case it comes in can stand upright and keep the device in the proper orientation, as long as you have something to kind of lean it on.
