I watch a lot of dvds made in Britain and needed a reasonably priced region-free player. I am now on my second unit of this exact dvd player. The prongs on the electric cord are very fragile and one broke off and got stuck in my power bar on my first player. Also, the dvd tray worked fine for a short while, then began opening as soon as I loaded a disc and would not close. The 2nd player has major issue with skipping. Screen goes blank for up to 5 seconds then comes back. You miss the dialog as well as the visuals. Customer service advised to disconnect my sound bar. Made NO DIFFERENCE. Then the power button on the player got stuck inside the cabinet so I could only turn the machine on with the remote. I'm looking elsewhere for a region free player now. As well as all this, the HDMI cable is way too loose and I have to constantly reconnect it. It won't remain snug enough to work. A real pain.
Alas the 2nd same unit I bought to replace the first lasted less than 1 month. The plug broke off in the power bar. AGAIN! I was not being too aggressive since the plug broke in the first unit!I GIVE UP! WANT MY $ BACK. Where do you want me to send the remains?
