I have a massive collection of recordable bootleg concert DVD's and other selections not available in the digital world, so while the world has moved away from physical media, it's still the only way to access huge swaths of my collection. Finding suitable players can be a challenge. They are often cheaply made, often don't play some recordables clean and if I can't find or use the remote, it becomes useless.

This unit however is easily the best DVD player I bought since my first one over 20 years ago and that one cost $125! Nice sturdy case and most importantly all the function buttons are the front panel so if the remote batteries are dead I can still use it. I mostly play recordables which can be finicky and it has yet to reject one or skip or any other flaws. Highly recommended for those of us still using physical media.
