The layout of this 2-channel unit emulates a professional DJM-S mixer + PLX turntable setup, and includes specialized features for open-format and scratch DJs. The acrylic top plate is finished with a vinyl-like texture for effortless finger grip, and you can choose between low and high torque settings and use the two slip sheets included inside each deck to find your preferred amount of friction. Switch between a rotation speed of 33⅓ or 45rpm whenever you like and use the Stop Time setting to adjust how long it takes for the music to end when you press pause. The DDJ-REV DJ Controller Series is an ideal solution for open-format and scratch DJs as it emulates a professional DJM-S mixer and PLX turntable setup. For the first time ever on a Pioneer DJ controller, the tempo sliders sit horizontally on the top of the deck sections to mirror PLX turntables in a battle configuration, while the Performance Pads and Lever FX paddles sit in the mixer section to parallel the DJM-S Series mixer design.

Unlike a traditional DJ controller, the DDJ-REV7 enables artists to replicate the analog mixing experience with its motorized 7-inch VINYLIZED JOG wheels. The jog wheels feature customizable settings and two slip sheets included inside each deck to allow artists to experiment with torque and friction. The acrylic top plate is uniquely finished to feel like a real analog record, and includes a spin treatment to easily catch on artists’ fingertips.

In the center of each jog wheel is a 3.5-inch On Jog Display — delivering essential information to artists such as track waveforms, Hot Cues and playback positions. The On Jog Display features omnidirectional viewing angles for clear readability, regardless of an artist’s viewing angle. The DDJ-REV7 also inherits Pioneer DJ’s renowned Magvel Fader Pro for a slick and accurate response while scratching.

Sampling during scratching is now exceptionally streamlined thanks to the DDJ-REV7’s new Instant Scratch buttons. The Instant Scratch buttons, complete with four original samples, are a built-in controller feature, making them accessible to artists without needing a laptop. Artists looking to drop their own samples, even full tracks, can do so by loading samples into the Serato DJ Pro Scratch Bank and tapping the Performance Pads.

The DDJ-REV7 has 22 Beat FX’s including 3 brand-new ones and five Sound Color FX for dramatic and texturized performances. The new controller also features advanced audio components and produces the highest level of sound quality in the entire Pioneer DJ controller range.

With the DDJ-REV7, manipulating and fading out sound is simple. Artists can switch between a rotation speed of 33⅓ or 45rpm anytime and use the Stop Time setting to adjust how long it takes for the music to end when pressing pause. Artists can also halt the music immediately or slow it down gradually, as if the power on an analog deck was turned off.

I decided to step up and grab this controller when it was a nice discount. It's a professional as you can get without bringing turntables. I never used moving platters before but I love it and it would be difficult going back. The mixer is perfect, the layout is perfect, using stems is flawless. I have heard of some issues that others have had, but that happens on first generation tech so hopefully that can be addressed. On and they sent me the gold version! Well worth the money.
If you're a push button DJ, get a Rev 5 instead but if you want to have fun learning how to really manipulate music grab this.

As a vinyl only dj (until a few days ago) I want to start by saying that the sound and construction quality are both top notch. The distortion and noise from external decks is almost nonexistent. The blending in the mixer is fantastic and the adjustment in the magvel cross fader makes transitioning from smooth mixing to scratching effortless. Fantastic as a mixer alone! I had a decent 2 channel denon mixer previously. No bells and whistles, but good sound and quality. This is definitely on another level.

Now, as a vinyl only dj, I can also say that there is a bit of a learning curve if you've never used a controller before. However, after watching some tutorial videos I was on my way. I'm sure that others more experienced with controllers will be able to give a better assessment of this controller's full spectrum of abilities... but for me, this has revitalized my love of music! Playing with the beat fx alone has taken my mixing to another level.

I was trying to get my hands on a ddj1000srt for months, but was unsuccessful. I saw pioneer was releasing this controller and decided to hold out for one. It was worth every penny and every month of extra waiting!

This is an incredible innovation for turntablists. Having spent most of my DJ career on SL1200s, embracing serato, and eventually adding a Rane 12 to my setup, the DDJ REV7 is by far the most impressive piece of DJ technology I’ve used to date. It feels like vinyl but offers all the digital tools modern DJs love. The build quality is great, though I must admit I’ve never used a rane one so I cannot compare. Setup was easy and it took mere moments to get comfortable using this controller. The portability of this unit is another plus. With an all in one build this eliminates so much extra gear to haul into a venue. The size of the jog wheels allows plenty of room for scratching and the built in screens are next level. I could go on and on about the features but I recommend looking online for more comprehensive breakdowns. In the end, it’s certainly not cheap, but if you’re in the market for new gear, this is the new standard for modern gigging turntablists.
