Was using some random cheap wifi smart lights and the reliability sucked. They would just randomly not follow commands.

Got these and set up the hub and everything works flawlessly now. They respond to commands fast and hook up with Alexa routines perfectly.

Even the colours just look a lot better.

Plus it auto discovers the lights, no messing around with wierd apps/turning the bulb on/off to pair it.

I bought the main hub from Home Depot some years ago, but I felt it necessary to write my review here on Amazon for exposure.

Now that Philips changed their Terms of Service AFTER the purchase I am giving this 1 star.
The new change requires you to create an account and share personal data to continue the use of their HUE products. I wish I never bought these and will be removing them completely from my home.

The bright setting on the bulb is sometimes not bright enough, and it's noticeable. BUT. I love these. I love controlling it with the app and setting automations so that I can have lights already on when I get home from work, and set it it to mimic someone being home when I'm away. And it's so easy having guests over and setting the lights to dim so that it feels more like a party. They are pretty expensive though so even though I want all of my lights to be Philips it's just not feasible to drop 50 bucks a bulb even though they last longer.

Love these smart bulbs and the ease to set up. Love that we can change the colors of the room from an app on the phone. Like how I can turn on lights when I need to when I’m away. Although I got the Hue bridge and two bulbs at a good price the cost of the color bulbs are expensive. Just hope they last long enough to get my monies worth.

I received my first set of these from my brother in law a couple years ago. Since then I have onboarded several more. Once you have the hub, you can simply keep adding them. I have them in multiple rooms and the Philips Hue app allows me to program them to turn on and off at different times. This is especially handy for my travel schedule. Neighbors never know when I’m home or not, as the lights turn on and off at random times through the week, as they would if I were there.

The light scenes in the app make for easy transitioning from color to color. Each scene sets a particular mood. They work seamlessly with my Alexa echo, so I can simply ask Alexa to turn on the lights. I can also ask her to set the lights to a particular scene. And for my morning routine, once I cue Alexa with my morning wake phrase, she knows to turn these lights on to a specific setting. It’s like having a personal assistant at home.
