Product description

The all-new Capture is the most secure, convenient, accessible way to carry your camera, period. Unlike a camera strap, Capture keeps your camera rigidly stable while hiking, biking, or moving around the studio. Unlike a camera bag, Capture keeps your camera instantly accessible with the click of a button. Includes 2 components: a metal clip that clamps to any backpack strap, belt, or bag, and an Arca tripod-compatible plate that screws into the bottom of your camera. Your camera locks into the clip, where it is held rigidly and securely. Press the lockable quick-release button to remove. Holds well over 200 lbs. (90kg), making it strong enough for the heaviest of pro camera/lens combinations. V3 updates: Way smaller, way lighter, all-metal build, ultra-smooth machined/anodized finish, hella comfy ergonomic design. Expand your options with plates & kits:Need Manfrotto tripod compatibility? Get Capture (Clip Only)+ Dual Plate. We also make adapters for carrying lenses, binoculars, and GoPros.

Peak Design paid cost to repair base of camera after crack formed.
**Update: After contacting Peak Design they actually offered themselves to pay for the repair to the base of my Nikon. I really appreciate that level of customer service so hats off to them. I do plan to try it again with my D7500. I hope all will go well, and considering I haven't heard too many other reports of this happening, hopefully it's just a one off thing. **One single 3 hour flat ground hike. That's all it took to fracture the entire base of my brand new Nikon D5600. Now I have a $1000 camera with less than 1000 actuations and a cracked base that's leaking an oily substance. And no, I didn't over torque the clip onto the camera, I've used clips and tripods for ages and know not to over torque.I attach a few photos where you can see the crack and the oily substance. Obviously I'm upset at Nikon's poor design quality, but I think the base of the Capture clip needs to be far bigger.

This is one accessory a serious photographer should no be without. I loathe walking around with a camera looped around my neck or leaving only 1 arm free. With this clip you can easily mount your camera and lense on the shoulder strap of your backpack or alternately your belt.

the construction of the clip is superb. Yes its not cheap, but there can be no comparison to any others you might find. When you find a product like this, the thoughtful construction shines through.... they definitely care about the product design and quality.

Will be field testing this on vacation in a week... and I do not anticipate any problems :)

**update Mar 23 - Loved having this for my camera while out trekking... securely kept my camera handy and 'out of the way'. Easy to unclip and take pics... as well, I felt it was a bit more secure from theft (nobody could just pick it up and walk away). Happy with the purchase.

Is great to be able to have my camera at so easy access.
The one thing i can say is that once the little screw of one side fell and i was D: The camera wasnt on the clip but i think there could be something that locks the clip in a more secure way.

I really like this clip, at first I bought the peak design slide strap and that's great. But the minute I put a back pack on that strap becomes useless since I carry my camera sling style.

The clip works really well, for on the go shooting. After about the first day I was able to get it in and out relatively easy. I've used it walking around the city, and on a 21km hike. Works for anything that I've used it for and I'm completely confident that the clip will hold my camera. It's comfortable even when wearing a thin t-shirt with a back pack. I just use the hand screws over the grub screws since it's nice to be able to remove it without a tool.

Two things I noticed that users should know (which aren't a problem of the clip) is with a heavy lens like a Canon 17-55 2.8, the lens creeps the minute I turn it over. So with the clip I just have to suck it up with the zoom barrel completely extended when I'm walking around. Second, with a lightly loaded or uneven back pack the clip pulls a lot on the shoulder with the clip attached and it does become uncomfortable since you need weight in the back pack to keep it balanced.

With the handscrews on the clip and the camera mount, make sure to double check them before every use. I've noticed that every now and then it gets loose. I expect this to happen since it's shaking around when used, so this doesn't bother me.

It works much more smoothly than a much cheaper similar product that I purchased from another company.

Basically works the same as the original capture, but minus the screw that tightened or loosened the channel into which the plate slides. As this never served much purpose, unless perhaps you were trying to use the Capture with a non-standard plate, I have not missed it.
It is a lighter, slimmer version and fits much more neatly onto a bad strap, without too much sticking out to the sides, and thus less lightly to catch onto things, or bang into stuff.
I have noted elsewhere, and will here, that the new version of the plate does not have the flip-up finger tightening tripod screw, only a hex socket, thus one needs to carry a hex key if there is a need to remove or attach a plate while out and about. I happened to have enough of the old plates that I was able to cannibalize the tripod screws from those, and there is no problem using them with the new plates. One can of course also use the old plates with the new Capture.

I've been drooling over this clip for a while and finally purchased it for an upcoming backpacking trip. I LOVE this thing. It is so easy to install (I can quickly transfer it from my backpack to my day pack) and it's very sturdy - I have no qualms about trusting my DSLR to this clip. My backpack DOES have wide and thick straps and I have to wear this in sort of an awkward spot where the strap is narrow enough for it to fit, but I have plans to replace my pack anyway so I will deal with it for the short term. I'm so excited to use this and to have my camera close at hand, especially for wildlife sightings and other quick-capture opportunities where I'd previously not been able to dig my camera out of my bag in time.

this thing is great. I love that i can attach my camera to my backpack strap while hiking and having it ready to shoot the next picture within seconds. you can attach/detach the camera quicky and it holds it very securely. The idea, design and execution are brilliant. Love it and will bring with me whenever I plan to take photographs.
It is on the expensive side - but probably worth the money....

5.0 out of 5 stars Genial, la única pega el precio.
