Faulty design makes the HHD unusable after only a year.
After less than a year of a very light usage, the USB port got wobbly to the extent the computer doesn't see the HDD anymore. I thought it would be possible to replace the enclosure, but no, the port is welded right into the chip (see the photo). So, I now need to throw this garbage away and spend another 150 dollars for a new one! Not buying WD anymore. Toshiba or Hitachi have much better records.

He adquirido disco duro externo para hacer una copia de seguridad de la otra copia de seguridad de mis trabajos, siempre tengo 2 copias de seguridad de todos mis trabajos de vídeo. En general, para cada tipo de almacenamiento voy con una marca diferente. Por ejemplo para tarjetas de memoria siempre voy con SanDisk, para discos duros HDD voy con Western Digital o G Technology y para discos duros SSD y memorias flash prefiero Samsung. Todas las memorias externas las formateo en el formato de Mac, APFS, ya que sólo las utilizo en Mac. En este formato el disco duro no solo dispone de toda la memoria anunciada si no que también tiene un mejor rendimiento. Como se puede ver en la prueba de velocidad, llega a una velocidad de lectura de 113mb/s y 105mb/s de escritura. El fabricante no especifica las velocidades de escritura y lectura para este modelo en concreto pero son las velocidades esperadas para un disco duro HDD, aunque es un poco más lento que mi otro WD My Passport metálico que tengo y tiene unos 5 años y también es un poco más lento que el otro disco duro que tengo de G Technology. Para copiar unos 929GB ha tardado un poco menos de 6 horas. Los materiales son de buena calidad, tanto el disco duro como el cable y el adaptador. En definitiva es una muy buena compra, un producto que recomiendo y sin duda algún volvería a comprar.
