I've bought multiple hammocks like this, they are fantastic, easy to travel with and very comfortable.

If you leave them in the sun for months at a time, the fabric gets weak and eventually rips when someone lays in it and is rough on it.

This is true of all polypro fabric. The fabric is super strong unless the sun gets a chance to wear it out.
