My spouse spends quite a bit of time reading each evening. She switched from paper books to a tablet a while back as it was lighter, more compact and easier to hold. In addition to being less likely for her to loose the page she is reading if she falls asleep… more to come on that subject 😉. This device is the newest addition to her “perfect setup”. It holds the tablet perfectly still without the need for her to hold it. Lets just say there may or may not have been an incident where she was holding the tablet in her hands while lying in bed, fell asleep and the tablet smacked her in the head instantly waking her up. 😂 In addition to this device she also got a wireless page turning remote so when the tablet is in this mouthing adapter, she can be rolled in a blanket. Without the need to take her arms out of the warmth of the blanket she is able to turn the pages.

This arm can only really work vertically up and down, and swing left and right. If you need it to curve left and right, it is incapable. The joint closest to the tablet holder doesn't bend all the way, and hits the arm so can only be rotated less than 90 degrees. I wanted to use it on my bedframe, with the vertical mount. Due to the low height of my bedframe, the arm was too short to go over my head and into a comfortable viewing position. I tried mounting it to the side, but because the middle joint can't bend left and right, and the limited joint at the head, couldn't get the geometry to work either. The good thing was it was sturdy and stable, not too springy and shaky, and held the tablet firmly.

I bought this to use with a Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the weight of the Switch is too heavy for this product. It barely held its position and I would often have to reset the position as it was not strong enough to hold its place for very long. I handled this product with great care and it still ended up breaking within a few months of usage. I'm very disappointed with this purchase and I caution others to be aware of how flimsy this product is. I was lucky to purchase it on a sale but I still feel like I was ripped off and I feel that the advertising for this product is false. Do yourself a favour and pass on this product. Surely there are better options than this.
