I took the recommended dosage during the morning hours and I noticed a slow, sweeping calm overtaking me after about an hour.
For myself I did notice a slight lack of motivation as this compound is known to alter and reduce cortisol levels (of which is necessary for action).
For evening time dosage, it has been amazing for relaxation. Coupled with magnesium l-threonate, I noticed a very pronounced calm.
My sleep has been, as other anecdotes suggest, improved. I feel calmer.
Having two capsules together in the morning had given me a similar level of calm.
I don’t however see how l-theanine has been used for focus- I find it relaxes the mind excessively.
EEG studies have shown it invokes smoothed out alpha brain waves which are associated with periods of rather stagnant, calm activity.
For intense focus gamma, or beta waves (higher frequencies) are seen.
I had researched theanine and came across the patented form “suntheanine”.
I cannot remark on the difference and see if there is a markedly higher quality.
Overall I recommend this product as I personally had, and continue to have, noticed a pronounced calm in the evenings after taking one capsule (one dose).
I recommend pairing it with a good quality magnesium l-threonate supplement.
