A Perfect Treat for Mint-Chocolate Lovers
A brief disclaimer is that I bought these impulsively and received them when that impulsivity wore off. At the time they were $1.99.Happening upon the box you'll see a variation of the classic "Oreo" emblem with green lettering to signify that it's mint. It really pops out at you and looks fresh: the off-shade mint entails cleanliness and a bright, nature-related vibrancy. Opening the seal, you're hit with a soft blend of chocolate and peppermint, and really, I do mean soft. It's unassuming and inoffensive to the greatest degree, a silky scent that smells like a chocolate factory imbuing warm chocolates with a gentle mint aroma.And these cookies are just that: gentle, warm, unassuming, and what I like most about the product. The cookie itself tastes much like the original Oreo, if not, slightly more chocolatey, and the filling, while sweet, isn't overpowering. The chocolate wafer holds really well in between bites. As for the filling, it lacks the typical sharpness of peppermint desserts and its humble demeanour works with the chocolate rather than against it. The filling itself is plentiful too. There is about the same amount of creme in a Mint Creme Oreo as there is in a Double Stuf Oreo.I ate the Oreos casually, as a brief dessert after meals or given as a snack to my siblings. The Oreos were delicious and I'll definitely buy them again.
