My first camera, excellent so far.
5 out of 5 stars
My first camera, excellent so far.
This is my first digital camera, I did a lot of research and watched a lot of YouTube videos. I am extremely happy that I bought this camera. I have found it to have the perfect size and features for my needs. It is also light and compact but offers a good grip for my hands. I don't have small hands nor huge hands. Perhaps someone with thick fingers may not find it very easy to grip. I have had it for 8 weeks and I have been learning quite a bit about photography. I have used it a lot on the outside with cold weather and snow, and also on the inside. I bought two lenses for it, nothing fancy but useful a 12-50 and a 40 to 150 mm one and I have had the opportunity to learn many futures of the camera with both. For beginners like me, I would love for companies like Olympus to have in-depth training videos for the camera. The many menus offer some good but limited information but I still think there is room for a video, I would not have minded paying for it. Many reviewers comment on the fact that it is only 16MP. However, it has not been an issue whatsoever for me, the largest print size for me was 8x10 and it looked beautiful. I still have a lot to learn but I feel very happy to have a great camera to start a new hobby with the right tool. I should also mention that value for price is hard to beat on this camera and the 4K video sold it for me. One complaint is about shooting moving objects and I have only had a couple of chances to do it but I was happy with the results when I had to do it fast and not with "auto" but I will need a lot more to really say. I am posting a couple of pictures for which I have not done any editing yet. I hope you like them. Look and evaluate your other options from Sony, Panasonic and Fuji but do take a good look at this camera. Remember there will always be those who love it and those who hate it. I am on fully on camp 1.I spent 1300 CND included the two lenses, extra charger, extra batteries, a camera bag, and two different tripods.

This camera is like a beautiful jewel or time piece. The quality for the price is outstanding. Olympus makes terrific cameras and this one is no different. It does everything you need in a very compact and portable size. It's very sturdy and robust and feels really nice in the hands. It's perfect for small prime lenses but there is enough grip to support medium size zoom lenses. The dial controls are a real treat to use and the buttons have a tactile feel to them. The swivel screen comes in handy when shooting at waist level or above crowds. Picture quality is excellent and there are a multitude of photo enhancements to choose from. Wish it had an APS-C sensor but the m4/3 has it's advantages too.

Works great, I’ve been using Olympus Cameras for about 40 years. Started off with an OM1, then OM2, then PEN E-P1, and now the OM-D E-M10 Mk III. They are worth every penny, and then some. What I like Most about the Olympus Cameras are there metering system, and lens coatings. Best on the market! Love the size, weight and retro look also. They suite my budget and needs in a camera system. I have other SONY and Nikon Cameras, but I always come back to Olympus Cameras. Never disappointed with their quality. This camera have lots more features than I expected in a camera. Technology have really come a long way since my OM1!

The is my new updated camera in four years period. I bought a new full frame Nikon DSLR D750 with stock lens in a package 4 years ago. I had fun time with it while taking pictures in the past. I bought this new Olympus camera in M4/3 sensor size because of its much smaller size and weight at low cost as compared my Nikon DSLR camera. I was very amazed to the capabilities and images taken with this tiny camera even it is a brand new but four years old model. I spent some money to buy extra lens for it which I think it is still worth the investment. As compared to my old Nikon camera at a 1/4 price point. I can admit there is no comparison in built quality and picture images, but a second handy camera for use in general purpose is a great idea to me for travel purposes.

I had a Pen mini for many years but it the shutter button broke and I decided to upgrade mainly because I wanted a camera that had a built in viewfinder and was compatible with the lenses and accessories that I had purchased for the Pen mini. I love the camera but was a little disappointed to find out that it does not have the same accessory port as the Pen mini had. I had an external mike from Olympus which plugged into the accessory port. The OM D does not have an external microphone jack either. Otherwise I would have rated the cameral as 5 stars.

This is a great camera if you get it on sale. I have used it and so has my wife. The ability to take pictures using your phone makes family pictures so much easier. And you can also use it to stream if you pick up a dummy battery and dont care about the green battery symbol on the top left corner.

I am happy with this camera and the retro styling. Smaller body with no compromise in the size of the buttons and knobs. Takes good resolution shots on auto mode and the menu is not difficult to maneuver

I bought this camera as a beginner to improve my skills and get better. It's cheap, compared to many other cameras, but can also produce high-quality images like they can. The seller is also exceptional, they helped me out when I was having trouble with the camera. If you're a beginner eager to learn more about photography, this camera is a great first step.

If you are interested in photography and are not sure where to start, this is the camera for you. It takes excellent photos and video. The megapixel count is more than you need as a beginner and is more than sufficient for most common print sizes. Olympus has a large variety of good lenses so; upgrading is always a possibility. The only downside is that this camera is not weather-sealed but, a light mist or drizzle will be nothing to worry about. I highly recommend this to friends and family delving into photography.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genial maquina con grandes prestaciones profesionales

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably my 4th Olympus
Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019

I know folks use Pentax, Nikons, Sonys , and Canons. I have always used Olympus cameras. At the very least, I've had a Stylus (or two or so), a DSLR, and not this camera. This camera suits my needs perfectly. Below are some comments that might be helpful

1) My DSLR doesn't take videos and I am videoing my children's sporting events. It works very well. Note that because of EU regulations, you must have videos that are 29 minutes or shorter. I film periods/halves, etc and then splice them together using editing software.

2) internal stabilization was important to me (as opposed to stabilization built into the lenses). My videos (I am using a tripod) have been smooth and I am not the least bit sea-sick watching the videos.

3) it takes amazing photos, as well and I don't have to carry a camera and a video camera.

4) several folks at games have commented, "that is an awesome little camera/set -up you have there."

5) there is an adapter for my DSLR lenses, I opted to by all new micro 4/3 lenses as there is less room for light to come in (ie through the adapter if it doesn't fit absolutely perfectly) and the lenses are SOOOOOOOO much smaller than the ones I have on my DSLR. Further, the adapter, itself was more expensive than the 40-150mm micro 4/3 lens, itself. That said, from what I've read, all the Olympus 4/3 lenses will fit with an available adapter.

6) I have the "silver" model and it's really retro and I admit, I like the look (really has nothing to do with quality, I know, but the aesthetic is nice)

I'm sure there will be more as I use it more, but that's what I have for now
