It was so big and made my phone bulky. But then.... I started to use the clip on my belt to hold my phone and now I find it useful. You don't want to put a large phone like this in your pocket. I wear it on the left side of my waist - clipping it to my belt.

I work in a manufacturing/welding/fabricating environment. Killer for cell phones.
Grinding sparks, weld spatter (Sparks). The defender has saved my phones on several drop incidents, I highly recommend the screen protector since it has save my screen many times from weld spatter and grinding sparks that tend to melt themselves into the glass screen protector but not penetrating deep enough to damage the cell phone glass itself.
Metal particles actually become airborne in the welding smoke/fume. The only thing that has breached any of my Otterbox's in the past has been the tiny metal particles in the air. The magnets in the cell phone's speaker and microphone attract these dust like particles and then the speaker starts sounding garbled or people complain that they cant understand or hear me. I use compressed air to clean the speaker/mic but that is temporary and sometimes the compressed air does more damage than good.

I've always used the Otterbox Defender series on all my phones in the past and will continue to do so for future phones. All of my past phones I still have and are still like new in appearance. They're just plain paperweights now since they're mostly old Blackberry's and a few newer Samsung's but the speakers and microphones went.

Nice grip material. Doesn't slip in your hands. Quality protection compared to another case. But that extra thickness makes it hard to fit in the car's wireless charger (just use wire now). While it's not as slim as my other case, it still fits in my pocket which is good.

It's my first time to use Otterbox and I usually use UAG and Speck and Spigen. It does protect your phone as per ads and my phone already fell about 4x and it's pretty impressive coz my screen protector which is a Whitestone Dome Glass is still intact unlike UAG that really ruined my screen protector.

If you're looking for a case that will protect your phone and screen protector go for this case!
