Absolutely love this machine. Fairly easy to use but you do need some patience as you mix up your recipes and put them in the freezer for 24 hours. The recipes, especially for vanilla or chocolate base are pretty straight forward and can be put together in about 10 minutes. We do coffee ice cream as a treat sometimes as well.

One mistake I made was downloading recipes from the web. Many of the recipes or recipe books on Amazon are for the smaller unit opposed to the deluxe.

Basic functionality is you mix a recipe, freeze for 24 hours, set the machine to ice cream and run it. If you want to add to it (chocolate chips, crushed toberone, etc) is you create a hole in the ice cream just processed and the ingredients and select mix in and run it again. Great texture and taste.

Milkshake setting works great! I find the frozen drink setting comes out on the thicker side but melts fast enough to enjoy. (Mostly experimenting with hard lemonade).

Haven’t bought ice cream in a store since we got this unit.

There are so many recipes online, I had to get one of these and try it out. Bar none, best Vanilla Ice cream(I started off simply) I made at home. I have tried strawberry and cookies and cream (with oreos) I am obcessed. I got this for both the frozen drink and ice cream and I wasn't dissapointed. This makes the best frozen margaritas , you just have to prepare(same as the ice cream) and freeze your mixes 24hours ahead. Another tip, let your concoction rest on the counter for 10 minutes before you use the machine, I learned this by reading lots of others online. Its worth the buy, and fun for the family to make their own recipes...also you may want to buy a few more containers, 2 was not enough for us.

This is an amazing appliance except for how many times it can be used before the motor smokes out or the blade digs into the plastic container leaving bits of plastic throughout your ice cream. This is the 3rd machine we have had in under 6 months. We used this one around 10 times and today it blended the plastic container right into our ice cream.
