I have a lot to learn with this camera. Like how to turn OFF face tracking when I want to do a talking head video and keep it off until I turn it on again. But the images are crisp and I have no regrets about buying this camera. Do I need it? No. My iPhone takes just fine footage. But I can tell the difference in quality. So if you are looking to upgrade your videos then this little camera would be a good investment.

Captures good quality photos. The kit lens is quite good and sharp. The camera body is slim and easy to handle. The grip is also good. The LCD is also good enough to replace the viewfinder. Overall, it is a nice and decent camera for beginners.

I don’t vlog. I’ll just get that out of the way. I bought this as a B and C camera for video and a small walk around camera. I have a Z9 and Z6 and do mostly stills. But video is a growing aspect of my what I do. Corporate, weddings, industrial etc. I bought it near the end of wedding season and tried it as a B cam on a couple of wedding video shoots. The AF is better than the Z6. It detects eyes further away. It might be on par with the Z6II but I haven’t used that camera. And it’s close to how far away the Z9 picks up eyes. Long story short, I’ve been very impressed with this little camera. The ability to run an external battery into the USB-C port means you can easily record for over 90 minutes at 4K, as long as your memory card can handle that. But I bought it to be able to set up on a tripod at the back of the church or hall and just record without me having to babysit where it’s focusing like I had to with the Z6. It’s a second generation AF and power system camera. Throw on an 85 1.8 and it gives me a faux 127 f/2.7 which is great for recording podium speakers and then I can run around with my Z9 getting different angles. I’ve also started doing hybrid photo/video weddings and will be using it so I can keep two cameras on me altering between photo and video. It doesn’t do 10 but video but it has a great 8bit flat profile and with active D-lighting set to low or normal, you have a pseudo LOG profile little camera. I knew I’d like it. But I’ve been shocked how much I like it. Pre-amps are ok. Nothing amazing as with any mirrorless camera. But it’s 24bit which is a step up from any DSLR or even the Z6/Z6II. Auto gain is response and crisp. I tend to use it as scratch audio and sync with a better source later. All in all, considering the price, it’s amazing. A camera like this released 5 or 10 years ago would have been triple the cost. Lastly, for how I use it, I don’t miss the EVF. The ability to literally stuff it in a pocket counters any inconvenience of no EVF. It’s like a smart phone with a sensor 4x the size.

I was going back and forth with the Z50 and Z30, everyone says if you're a photographer you need the EVF, but people saying that are 80 and cannot adapt to the future lol. Image quality is amazing, lens choice is solid, switch from Canon and couldn't be happier!

Nikon Z30 does not work at all, didn't notice during the short return window unfortunately as it got forgotten before a trip and not touched since. In contact with Nikon about repair costs but may be a total loss. Would avoid this seller in the future.

I was fortunate to buy this camera from warehouse deals on discount and so far, it has been amazing! I waited for a bit to write this review so I can have time to test it out. Pictures and videos are crisp. I have made good videos that didn't need much post processing. It's targeted at vloggers and it works for what it's meant for. The only thing I miss is the view finder but then again, it's a vlogging camera so it's not that surprising that it didn't come with one. It's lightweight compared to my DSLR. If you can get it on deal, just grab it. If not still get it all the same, it's worth it.

I was going on a tour to seek grizzly bears and whales and my smart phone camera would not do this trip justice. I am an amateur photographer but this camera with an extra 50-250 mm lens was easy to use. On a few pictures the auto focus focused on the foliage instead of the bear behind, but I am happy with the quality of most of the photos. If I do more of this I might need an even bigger lens, but this was fine for getting started, Both pictures were taken with the 250 mm zoom.

I bought this camera to take on a trip. I didn’t want to take my heavy camera because the trip will include lots of walking.
I just wish it had a view finder instead of looking at the screen only. Otherwise, it is a good camera.
