Sturdy, future proof entry race rig

Sturdy, future proof entry race rig
I have now had my FGT Lite for over a month. I put about 2-4 hours of racing in per day on this rig and so far I like it a lot. If you are going to be spending around 300 on a playset, save the extra bit of money and get one of these.I'll break it down into 3 areas.1. Comfort. This is a pretty comfortable seat if you want to feel like you are in the car. It's like a hammock kind of sling so it feels very different in the various positions. Overall though it gives where it needs to and stays firm enough to really smash the brakes when you need to. The chair is adjustable into a bunch of positions, you can find a good one, it just takes some time and adjusting.2. Future use. FGT Lite has space for anything and everything. I currently have it mounted with a t150 wheel and t3pa pedals. Both sit nicely on the mounts, screws supplied with the rig fit nicely in both.I have since ordered a fanatec setup and I do not have to worry about changing or modifying my chair. It's all there to be mounted, and comes with the bolts that will fit the rig nicely.3. Feel. The whole thing feels really nice when you get it dialed into your size and the position you want to be in. It took me a while to adjust everything, but overall now that I am in the same position every time I race, I am getting better, faster. The sling part of the chair makes for an interesting experience, sometimes I find myself leaning slightly into corners and the chair sort of leans with me a few degrees. Feels very good to drive in. I play gt sport and F1 on a ps4 and it's been excellent. If I could have given it 4.5 I would have, only because the little orange holes in the headrest part of my seat aren't glued on well, so they move around a bit, but outside of that the whole thing is pretty well built. For all the people who read and worry about putting it together, make usre you have the tools that are needed to do the job. An Ikea wrench isn't going to do you any favors here, make sure you use a good set of sockets and no electric tools at all. It goes together nice and tight, I have zero issues with the self assembly of this product. Thanks,Hope this all helps other people with a decision.

I was hesitant on writting a review about this one, but I will. Overall, after you get used to the position and the "hammock" feel of the seat, the rig is actually good.

It was easy to put together, a bit clamsy with all the locks open but after you figure it out, it's easy.

I normally use it in the F1 config since the GT config feels too tight. The wheel gets either too close to my chest or hitting my knees. Not ideal in my case.

It's easy to fold the pedal support in to move it around, if needed. Overall length is big...you need some serious space to use this rig. But...I like it.

Overall, if you see this on sale, it's worth it I think.

Overall I'm really happy with it. I have only a few complaints. Note, I'm pairing this seat with a Logitech G920 racing wheel including the optional stick shifter.

First, it's really big. I'm 6' and I could probably be 7' and still fit in this monster. I had read that it was big, but wow, it's really big. Did it NEED to be that big? I don't know, I'm not a lawn chair engineer. But regardless, it's pretty darn large.

Second, you can configure this chair in a bunch of different ways, but it always seems like the place that I want it to be is halfway between what it allows. It's weird like that.

The most annoying thing though is that you can't reverse the side that it opens on. I'm sure this works brilliantly for Brits where they place the shifter on the left side of the chair. But for us filthy colonials who place the shifter on the right, it's a bit of a pain. I had to run the cable for the shifter under the seat, and up the left side of the chair so that it didn't block the gateway created by moving the steering wheel out of the way. I mean, IT WORKED. But barely and I can't cable manage it the way I want to because there isn't enough slack in the line. If you could flip that around then it would be chef's kiss.

Other than those minor quibbles the seat is great. It was pretty quick to put together, all the tools and mounting hardware were included. It's comfy to sit in and I really love how I can flip between GT and Formula positions. I'd also read reviews where the seat lifts in the middle if you jam on the brakes too hard but that hasn't happened to me. It's very stable for being, as mentioned, a glorified lawn chair for giants. Well done NLR.

Yes, I'm sure the $1k or $2k cockpits feel much more substantial and solid but this platform gives you all you need to race confidently. Build quality is excellent. The hinges are substantial and I never feel like it's going to shift or move during a race. The seat material is fantastic, and after 2+ years of use it still looks brand new - no pilling or tearing.

It's great that it's configurable for different people. Once you find a good position, you likely won't change it, but you can customize it nicely. My kids jump on for a drive too, and it's simple to put it back to my layout.

Great product with a reasonable price.

Quality product. Works exactly as advertised. People that have a hard time setting it up just need to get help from someone who has a small bit of handyperson skills. The GT and F1 positions are great for replicating the respective cockpits, but a hidden advantage is if you aren't hung up on what position you are sitting in, you can adjust the cockpit to the height of your monitor. GT for a higher monitor, F1 for a lower monitor. Anyway, good stuff. Minor nits: 1) screwdriver and wrench are not the best for tightening the nuts and bolts, get real ones if you have them handy; 2) small scratches on the tubing, definitely not a deal breaker; 3) inserting tubes for legs and steering setup is very tight (try some soapy water or candle wax to help it slide in and align). If you are looking for something nicer than a desk and chair but not a full blown aluminum crate, this will work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottimo sedile da racing con quale leggero difetto.

Hi!

Its light structure has the advantage of transmitting vibrations throughout the entire seat, with a T300RS GT and more powerful wheel, of course...

BTW, you can move the support plate full forward, the T300's screws and clamp are still usable.

In terms of easy "folding", it's more a question of folding the pedals... but by marking the gears, it's much easier to use the fully folding mode.

For the hard-to-fit rear foot, use it as it is, 'til your weight has done the trick, then use the screws. Think that if it's " too tight", it's that much stiffer.
