The replacement cable on the right, original on the left. Bought this since it was cheaper than the others on Amazon, but the prongs are every so slightly too wide to fit into the actual headphones. The originals also have one prong larger/shorter than the other on each side, while both are the same size in this new cable. Tried with my HD650 and HD6XX, had to nearly hammer it in.I also believe that all cables are the same but the sound is noticeably worse with these, maybe because they wouldn't fit into the sockets.Would listen to the other reviews and spend an extra $5 on a cable that works.
I initially bought this cable 3 years ago after I broke stock cable on my HD 58x Jubilee. I put this cable through many rough uses. I have yanked out this cable so many times from both ends and it has survived all of them. The cable lasted me 3 years and I have now bought a second having small connection issue where the spring is. This is probably due to the way I have it plugged in and having abused the cable so much. After second purchase I noticed they have improved the cable and it is not too stiff in the braided area. I think this is an improvement since it allows more movement. This is many times stronger than the stock cable the headphones came with and there are no sound quality differences, if anything I find this functioned better.
Update: It's almost 2 years since I started using this cable. No problems at all - the below review still stands in its entirety.
Bought this to replace a failed connection in the stock cable's left ear. I have been using them for most of the day now and there is absolutely no difference in audio quality from the stock cables. The cable has a standard 3.5mm connector with a screw connector for a 1/4in plug that is included in the package. For reference, I am using the cable on Sennheiser HD650s via a Xonar Essence STX II with aftermarket Burson v5i op amps.
Differences from HD650 stock cables: - This cable length is shorter at 1.5m with the original being 3m. Keep in mind, a portion of this is the extended length of the ear connectors to the Y junction, making the length of the cable below the Y junction less. Personally I prefer this due to my setup and this issue can easily be mitigated with a 3.5mm extension cable.
- The lower portion below the Y split is covered in braided plastic mesh. Personally I find this to be an improvement over the rubberized cabling on the stock connectors as this cable will not friction catch on other materials like the stock cables do.
- The grey/silver cover at the Y junction is made of plastic and not metal, making this portion weigh much less than the stock cables. This is optimal as it is less weight pulling down on the connectors which is likely the cause of the eventual wear on my stock cable over time.
- The whole cable weighs less due to less rubber on the cabling. As mentioned above, this will likely reduce additional strain and damage on the upper connector couplings over time.
-The length from the headphone ear connector to the Y junction is almost double.
Overall I have zero complaints with this cable and will be purchasing a second one to keep as a backup should I accidentally damage this one. If you are like me and are looking over all the replacement cables on Amazon trying to decide which one will provide a good experience, I highly recommend this one due to it's lightweight design and the fact that it works well with zero compromise to audio integrity or quality.
Very comfortable and works as a nice replacement for the OEM cables. They have a sort of soft finish that feels nice on the side of my head so that's cool. Other than that it works and has no cable noise

2.0 out of 5 stars
Doesn't fit the HD650, very thin

I bought from this brand before for a replacement cable for a Senheiser HD598 that cable was good and it's no surprise that this one for the HD650 is good too!
I'm not fancy enough to tell you if this cable is better than the oem but I can tell you I don't detect any lower quality in my audio.
The cable is well made and durable. Does exactly what it needs to for cheap.
I got this as a replacement fro my aging cable for the HD600 I own. I find the cable solid and it fits quite well in my headset but unexpectedly the sound quality is suffering, the bass frequencies are lowered and the mid range is muddled. I am not a crazy cable snob but it turns my audiophile level headphones few notches down.
I am happy the original cable still works though a bit imperfect contacts at the headset connection point seldomly.
I am not completely disappointed with the replacement but in hindsight if original breaks will have to spend again and buy a Sennheiser cable so there is no loss of quality. Maybe it behaves differently for other models for my HD600 it does not.
Tested it on a cellphone, PC and a Audiolabs CD player or Audiolabs Amp 8200 series high resolution audio and regular good dynamics no compression recording CDs.
