Troubleshooting

1. Cannot turn on the monitor

  • Be sure you are powering the monitor with a 12V AC adapter. Or with an NP-F battery, check if it is fully charged and correctly installed. When power is on, the LED indicator will turn red. Wait for 6s and press the power button, the LED indicator will turn blue.

2. There is noise in my recorded videos

  • Press and hold the “<” button to decrease the volume close to zero. Doing so can eliminate noise in your videos.

3. The monitor displays “No Signal” or the signal connection is unstable

  • Try another HDMI cable.
  • Connect the monitor to your PC via the HDMI cable and see if your monitor has a signal.
  • Change the signal output of your camera. Make sure the signal is in HDMI mode, and the monitor’s input signal supports your camera’s output signal.
  • The monitor will lose its signal when the camera is off. Please make your camera’s display stay on longer (disable auto-off if possible) or turn on the camera’s live view function.

Very impressed!

Very impressed!
I needed a bigger screen to break out from my T5 to pull focus with and this was 1/3 the price of even the other value brand screens. Color accuracy seems pretty accurate and it does have focus help (although I've got magic lantern on my camera so I won't be using that). It even came with TWO HDMI cables, one that fit the Canon EOS hdmi port in my camera and another micro HDMI to full size one so that was a bonus! I thought for a moment I was going to have to buy another cable.Does NOT include any power or battery though. I did order batteries for it but they're 4 days away, however I was able to find an old wall wart (12DCV, 1.5A) that fit it and it works great (reminder to never throw out old power adapters for things you don't use anymore!)Only small complaint is that the shoe mount is really fidgety to get to the right angle and be nice and tight. Lots of mucking about with it but hey, the screen works and budget was a big consideration here and at the end of the day it works and I have no regrets.

This in my second F100 and it's well worth the price. So much, I ordered a third one already.

I look at a lot of review before going for the Neewer and most review were saying that the major flaws was the delay in the HDMI signal processing. I got to say, it is so minimal it was hard for me to notice any delay. And I'm goin through a analog to SDI converter and and SDI to HDMI converter before feeding the viewfinder.
The picture is very quick and accurate. The focus mode is very useful. Of all the viewfinder I been given to test and use, this one is, by far, the best for it's price.

To sum it up, either you buy this one and save a lot of money or you get the high-end pro stuff and pay a lot. Just don't waste your time with other brand. In the middle.

I really like this monitor for the price. It's bright and clear with a lot of good menu options. However I had to take one star away for this issue(Assuming it is one)
After shutting the monitor off, there is a red led indicator that stays lit on the monitor. NOW, I may have missed something here but the only way I could truly 100% "power down" this monitor was to remove the battery. As a test I left the battery in the monitor overnight and it was dead later on the next day. This is definitely due to the residual power consumption of this LED.
Again, I may have missed something about this and if someone knows different please let me know and I will update my review!
Other than that...it's a great monitor and I would definitely buy it again!

I use this for shooting videos because my Nikon Z6II LCD rear screen does not flip out in front of the camera so I can't see it when filming myself. This is the perfect solution. Very pleased. Video quality is better than I expected for the cost.

I didn't purchase the kit with batteries because I intend to use this monitory in 1 stationary place. but I had assumed I would be able to power it via USB, but doesn't have a common USB port, didn't try that, I guess without a battery or Power Supply you have a paperweight out of the box.

I bought this unit in Feb 2019. I found the colors to be slightly off at all times even after changing the RGB settings, and the aspect ratio was not adjustable. It is stuck on either 4:3 or 16:10, Can't manually adjust it to accurately display 16:9. Although it is sufficient for framing, it is unusable for focus pulls, as it is SLIGHTLY blurry.
This month, May 2021, it suddenly stopped working after a popping sound and won't turn on again. Neither with a NP-F battery or the 12v input will turn it on.
So a little over 2 years of use and it randomly went dead.

Bought this for YouTube/vlogging production, to connect to one of my Go Pro 9's and my Panasonic HVX2OO. It was a bonus that it came with a micro HDMI adapter cable for the go pro. The HVX2OO requires an RGB to HDMI adapter, but that is a function of the camera and does not reflect negatively on the monitor. The monitor use is straightforward and does a good job. Clean, stable picture and some nice options. I wish it had come with a power adapter, but it's nice that it is also capable of running off a common, easy to find battery for field use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Using it in the field
Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2020

I've been using this for over a year now and am very happy with it. I mount it to the top of my DSLR via the hotshoe and use that setup on a tripod for video, very stable and using HDMI connection. The sun shade is a very USEFUL addition that other units don't have. Mostly I use the 7" monitor via the AV 'in' port for my 2 'snake' cameras that have built-in small screens (2.4, 3.5"). I'm filming tiny soil critters and crawling around on the ground and for that purpose this monitor works great - nicer than the little screens and can be positioned where I need it away from the devices, although the battery is heavy and throws off the center of gravity when using a short small tripod. After a lot of trial and error I ended up getting a Zeadio video 'stabilizing' handle and an 11" Neewer dual flash bar, mounting the monitor on one end of the bar and my devices on the other. Very easy to move from place to place as a single unit. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LKK99QA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The only problem I've had was that one of the batteries I got with the recommended 2-battery charger punked out after ~14 months. Those are not cheap.
