This multi effect is stunning for the price.
Some review suggested it is not as good as Valeton GP200. Well ..A) GP200 Is about $200 more expensive , B) Delays and Reverbs are no where as good as mg400 , C)the whammy effect of Valeton is unless cause you only get a mixed tone

and Another review suggested mg400 Harmony is a complaint cause the octave and original tone are always mixed. That is incorrect .. you can have a pitch shift to 1 or 2 octave , but you need to use the expression pedal 's whammy option, not the harmony effect

Having owned and experienced mg 30, mg 300, Valeton GP 100 and GP200, Line 6 pod and pod go, Boss GT 100 and many other multi effect board , I can confident mg400 produces way superior sounds and patches ..highly recommended

This little pedal works great for electric and acoustic guitar! Having had this pedal for about a week and only spending a few days playing it so far here are my initial thoughts.

So far the highlights for me are:
1. The reverbs are super sweet, and each one is unique and useful!

2. The delays are really versatile with programable dotted eighth and dedicated tap tempo.

3. The footswitches are well thought out and versatile.

4. The jam function gives you a 60 looper (in mono) PLUS the ability to play along with the built in drum beats and sync your loops to drum beats! Great for practicing timing!

5. The built in tuner works great and is easy to see.

6. The unit's body is plastic but it doesn't feel cheap nor weak at all.

7. The expression pedal is smooth with a good throw to it.

8. The compressors give you a wide range of compression sounds with the studio compressor even allowing you to adjust the ratio and recovery time to achieve a very natural sound on acoustic guitar!

9. The EQ's are very responsive and make this pedal a super tone machine!

10. All of this with a system latency of only 1.1 milliseconds (one of the lowest on the market for all-in-one digital multi-effects units, period.)

11. The editing software works great and is user friendly and intuitive.

So far my complaints are:
1. The compressors do not have attack time adjustments. (but with 3 different compressors to choose from you get varying attack times built in to each one. And honestly the attack time feels really good on all 3 just depending on what you are wanting. So this is definitely not a deal breaker for me.)

2. There are no Wow and Flutter adjustments on the tape delay. (but it does sound good)

3. The harmony effect does not allow you to have only the octave effect in the mix. You can only blend the harmony effect in with the original signal. (I would rarely use this so it is not a deal breaker for me.)

4. The bass and mid tone controls on the amps will not make really drastic changes to the sound, but they are definitely working. (However, this is easily compensated for with the EQ effect block which is highly responsive and works wonderfully!)

In summary, I would highly recommend this pedal to my friends! The ability to have 3 scenes per preset is very nice! If all you used this pedal for was it's programable reverbs and delays I think it would be totally worth the price, but it excels at so much more! I don't just think this is a great value for the money (and it is), but I think it is a great pedal overall, and a serious contender in the multi-effects unit category.

Bought this as an option to my heavy pedalboard, and was pleasantly surprised!

You're not going to fool anyone away from the digital sound, but if you put the snobbery away and work a bit with the "EQ Pedal," it's a decent jamming rig. Confident, tactile footswitches. Bright, easy to read screen. I'm most impressed by the acoustic guitar modeling. It's a good writing tool since I don't have to switch guitars. I'm still learning, but I was already able to set up my core tones in just one night.

Complaints are the videos on their official Youtube are a bit hard to understand if you're not actively listening. The main software for toneshaping isn't the most intuitive, and there are some signal drops, but it only took me a few minutes of learning the nuances of the app.

I highly recommend this Multi effects pedal for intermediate guitarists who have an idea of the sound they want, and already have a list of pedals on their shopping list.

EDIT: Recently, I've been having issues saving my patches. I would set up an Amp setting, but the gain "knob" would never save position. I have emailed support and will update this review when I get a response.

EDIT 2: Very helpful and responsive customer service, we were able to find a solution and will be waiting for a firmware update soon!
