This third-party flash is light, and easy to navigate. The instructions are very clear and helpful. The head can be adjusted at different levels and you can rotate it almost all around which is nice for lighting to capture the photo you want to grab. It gives it the extra exposure that you need sometimes for taking photos. It comes with a diffuser cap, storage bag, and instructions. It uses AA batteries (4) which are not included- keep that in mind. It's a very affordable and functional flash version that isn't "branded" - great way to start getting more and more skilled in photography!

Ease of use: The menus are similar to other flashes I have from Neewer and Godox, so they were pretty natural to use for me. I go around these in the included video.
Construction: The flash is well-built. You will find similar construction on cheaper manual flash, but this flash is TTL, it adds to the costs.
Overall: This is an entry-level flash with TTL, and it is good. This is a decent flash that will be much better than a manual flash in my humble opinion and I will be using it often. Got with it if you are on a tight budget; However, I really prefer going with one of the flashes that support the 2.4GHz wireless mode and TTL like the NW420-C or NW655-C. I went this route 15 years ago with my old Olympus and got some manual flashes with external flash trigger, but nowadays, the 2.4 GHz for Godox/Neewer is the best option to choose if you take the strobist road.

Power: Giving the GN at 180 mm is misleading, as the narrower beam allow more intensity than you would get with a wider setting, making the flash look more powerful than a fixed beam flash. For this reason, I tested it myself by firing the flash at various zoom setting and calculating the effective GN. For short zoom, my number may be a little bit higher than the real value because of the extra bounce on the ceiling.Reviewed in Canada on January 8, 2023
