Melted and probably smoked
Update: Vendor read my review and offered me a full refund. I was just a few days outside of Amazon's return window. They assured me that it is an anomaly and should not have happened. I changed my star rating to 5 out of 5 because of service, especially when I didn't even contact vendor directly. The one in the picture is the 12" version. 16" one, I'm still using for my main scope. After using 5 or 6 times, it melted. Only found out after the fact. Was about -3 outside. My guide camera was reading 0c and then hit 4c later on. Thought it was generating heat on its own, so I shrugged it off. Wrong! Went outside, smelled foul burning smell. These dew heaters should have a fuse to prevent thermal runaway. Guide scope had residue and stank for a day even after cleaning it. Luckily, I don't notice any damage to my guide scope.

I was not.impressed with Neewer dew sleeve. Enough it has 3 settingnof heat I found the hottest setting was equivalent to the LOSHARP dew heater sleeve. Not only did the single setting was equivalent to NEWEER hottest setting the braided cable is more sturdy with better material. Less chance of the switch mechanism breaking, better extreme cable and warmer. I would recommend this product as a backup dew sleeve heater

It looks well built, comes with a carry pouch, and the cable is long enough. I was worried that the cable would be too short, but it is just about long enough to have it plugged in to a power pack with the camera on the tripod - if I go maximum height though, I will have to raise the power pack somehow.
It does the job very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but does the job. Dew heater for 80mm telescope.

If you are after a dew heater for your telescope and want to keep cost down this was the cheapest I found. I am just experimenting taking photos. But so far it has worked well. If it fails I will update.
