Neewer makes both the X14 and X14 Pro Teleprompters, which are pretty similar, nice product with subtle differences. I will highlight the cases where there is such a difference.Transport case: The teleprompter comes with a carrying case with fitted foam. The fit is good, but there is not much loose.Compatibility with QR plate: If you want to install a Quick Release plate under the teleprompter, you will need to remove it for storage. There are many 1/4 and 3/8 holes that are spaced 15 mm apart (30 mm between same sizes), my 70 mm Arca plate can use 2 screws. Quick Release base may be left in place depending on the location and careful placement of the ropes. Please note that my Arca QR baseplate has the knob hitting the teleprompter plate, which is 70 mm wide.Fabric tent: The black fabric cuts most lights, excepts around the hinges, you need to adjust it a little better, it may require some fiddling with tweezer to place it correctly. It opens correctly, and once you get used to the magnet, it works OK. For my camcorder, I had to 3D print a lens shade to wrap the fabric over it. Even with a small lens shade it works nicely, a bigger lens shade will be easier to seal and will hold the fabric.Tripod mounting option: You got many screws, that gives you more range to balance weight compared to the X14 Pro. This is useful if you have a heavier camera gear.Camera mounting option: The 1/4 screw slide all the length of the plate which is 70 mm with rubber grip. It works correctly. The access to the screw has some restrictions because of the extended baseplate. The X14 Pro provide easier access to the screws.Screen/tablet mounting: Sliding a large clamp and screwing 2 screws does the job. It does NOT fit my 15.6 mobile screen, I will not be able to use my laptop to drive the text or PowerPoints. Different from the X14 Pro, the X14 has a Wider 82 mm plate that accommodate narrower tablets, around 21.5 cm, this is less than the description.Accessories mounting: The X14 has a more versatile way of installing lights or microphones. Two independent arms slides out and can be adjusted independently. The same screws are used to both secure the tablet and lock the arm adjustment.Setup time: Fast, unfold with some screws to set up. A little bit slower than the X14 Pro, but it is only a matter of minutes.Remote: Remote only works with the app. The basic functionality of the app is good. The doc/docx import is a pain, and the cloud is limited to the app, no web access from PC. The cloud is using an alphanumerical password, this is considered weak security by current standards.Overall, it is a good teleprompter, although I prefer the X14 Pro for my use case and needs. I would choose the X14 if my screen was narrower than 21.5 cm (or use a tablet) and that I wish to get a more compact setup with the lights mounted on the teleprompter for mobility. I would also choose it If I get a heavy professional camcorder that would need to be balanced for weight, in which case I would find a screen that fits in.
