As you can see they include a lot of stuff and Neewer has always made affordable quality Photo and Video accessories. This monitor is no different, it feels solid and when mounted with the included L bracket seems sturdy with no worries. When the monitor is on the L bracket it can be positioned Landscape or Vertically viewing. You can also adjust the viewing angle easily as well.
The Monitor has a Standard HDMI input as well as an AV input (RCA cables included). There is a 3.5mm headphone jack to monitor audio and lastly a power input ( cable not included) if you want to run it without batteries…you will need a 12v 2A ( 5.5MM OD). On the bottom of the monitor there is a Power output port for hooking up a dummy battery to your camera the cable is included but not the dummy battery…I like this feature if you where doing a long event or recording. Nice touch Neewer!
There is also 2 x 1/4in mounting threads - one at the bottom and one one the side in which the L bracket uses but you could mount it the monitor on a tripod or ball head instead of on top camera no problem.
The monitor can accept a 4k signal but can only display 1080p which is fine its more for framing your picture/video than watching. The screen is officially stated as having 500 nits and 1000:1 contrast ratio for those interested in the numbers.
The hookup is simple HDMi to the mini/micro HDMI on your camera turn the camera On and the monitor ON using the Power Button on top of the monitor and your should have a feed. At this point you may have to make some adjusts in your camera settings ..In my case I have a Sony A6500 and I wanted to see both the F400 and the Sony screen at the same time. Once o you have your camera outputting the way you want its time for the F400 settings.
On the top of the monitor are 4 buttons 3 are Hotkeys and the last one is a Menu button with a scroll wheel beside it. There are 5 areas to select:
Picture - These settings are for adjusting the picture on the screen not the camera! You can change the mode to standard, Vivid, soft and user. Somethings to change are brightness, saturation color temperature and contrast. I found Standard to be just fine.
Marker - Here you can set aspect ratio markers and safety markers to help better frame your shot.
Function- This is where you can set the aspect ratio of the monitor and zoom in on the image. The Pixel to Pixel option is a must ON and I Leave the Aspect to Auto and then what ever your doing on the camera wether its 16:9 or 4:3 the monitor with follow that size.
Waveforms - These selections are going to appear as a OSD ( on screen display ). Waveforms such as Histogram, RGB WFM , Audio levels, vector display and peaking levels and color. And my favorite is Exposure helps you get better shots.
System- Is where the basic monitor settings live, like input source, language and OSD settings. The hot keys can be set up here so you can assign a function to one of the three hotkeys on the top of the display - pretty much everything can be assigned to these. The volume for the 3.5mm headphone jack is also managed here, as is the RESET in case you went a little overboard on the color setup. Here is where I wish they had an option to have a sleep timer adjustment as my camera goes to sleep after 5 min. but the monitor stays on for 30min. wasting battery life.
There is a USB port on the one side.. don’t get that confused with a regular USB port it is strictly for upgrading the Firmware on the monitor.
In use, found it very easy to use and helpful in many ways, I’m not a pro photographer or videographer so I use this monitor as a helpful tool to frame and set up shots easier. The monitor is fantastic addition to the tiny screens that digital cameras have. The battery life is good and easy to charge using a portable charger on the go. The sun shade is so handy to have and its included which is why I love Neewer products .. They are about giving the customer value and the F400 is a great representation of that. You get a terrific field monitor, all the accessories you need, for a reasonable price. Totally recommended!

Feature / accessories: with touchscreen, FHD viewing, 4K pass-through, with all the displays you may think of, this is really a dream. Add all the wires, battery, sun visor and this becomes too good to be true. And with all the goodies, I will store my Lilliput A5 and use this one. I will not enumerate all the functions, Neewer has a pretty precise description of their item, so I won't rewrite their description, only note .
Volume: The quickly accessible is a must. With my Lilliput, this caused feedback and going through the menus to locate the volume was a bit long. The Lilliput has a built-in speaker while this one does not, but if you use an external speaker, then the easily accessible volume is a must.
Menus: The menu are OK to navigate. This is not made as a touchscreen, it is more like a basic menu that supports touchscreen, but it is easy to figure out.
Battery / Charger: The charger is basic, and the battery is good. I tested 4 of the NP-F550 in the past, and they give you the rated capacity, which is not always the case with other brands, I had bad surprises in the past. I like the dual LP-E6- NPF option, it works nicely and I can share my batteries easily between light, camera and my other monitor.
DC Input: The device requires about 7W, which is around 0.6A, then add a little more is you connect accessories. The 12V will provide power to the 8.4V output. It does not look to be charging the battery. The power can be switched between 12V and battery without issues, both the 5V and the 8.4V stays active when replacing the battery / 12V power. You can power your camera from the 8.4, but it will lose power if you turn off the screen.
DC 5 V Input: The device requires about 5-6W, which is around 1.1 A. The 5V will NOT provide power to the 8.4V output, and a little under 5V to the USB-C in/out. It does not look to be charging the battery. The power can be NOT always switched between 5V and battery. Sometimes, the screen reboot, which will stop the HDMI loopback. This happens less with a USBA/5V power supply, but with a PD power supply, this is to be avoided. Only use 5V as a last resort.
In summary, I will use this one over my Lilliput. I will be careful with the HDMI out as it can turn off when turning the monitor off, I may even use a splitter instead. I will be careful about the 8.4V output, as it may turn off if I turn off the monitor. Finally, I may use the 5V in, but only if the monitor is standalone. All these little caution makes the usage of all these nice pro features, not exactly usable by pros, but for the price range we don't expect a pro monitor either.
This set contains absolutely everything you need to get started. The monitor itself is very sturdy and of great quality, which is nothing short of what I expect from Neewer. I found it fairly easy to set up, but I did require looking at some of my instructions to make sure I had it all set up correctly. Even then, I like using this monitor setup a lot. I found using it pretty easy once I got used to it, and I'm glad I have the chance to keep learning more about it as I keep using it.

The monitor's HDR touch screen with 3D LUT, waveform, and vector scope features are incredibly useful for achieving precise exposure and color accuracy in my video shoots. The Full HD 1920x1080 IPS display delivers smooth, vibrant colors and excellent aspect ratio, whether I'm shooting on a cloudy or sunny day.
Setting it up was a breeze, and the tilt arm provides flexibility in positioning for optimal viewing angles. The monitor's peaking focus assist is particularly impressive, helping me achieve sharp focus effortlessly.
What surprised me the most is the affordability of this monitor considering its robust features and performance. It's a steal at this price point compared to other monitors on the market.
Overall, I'm highly impressed with the NEEWER F500 Camera Field Monitor. It enhances my shooting experience significantly, offering great value, ease of use, and exceptional visual quality. If you're looking to elevate your videography setup without breaking the bank, I highly recommend this monitor.

Merci d'avoir lu.
