Excellent quality video tripod, especially for the price!
I feel that the NEEWER 74" Video Tripod with Fluid Head is in a professional class with its high quality and features, but at a better price point when compared to some other big name brand alternatives. I own several tripods and this is one of my favourites for several reasons. My three biggest reasons that I like this particular tripod is the fluid pan head, the adjustable bowl base (makes it much easier to level the camera), and the quick flip locks for the legs. Even the rubber feet at the bottom of each leg are great because they can be positioned to better match the terrain angle. The included quick release plate is a big convenience, too. All of these great features make this a great choice for a video tripod. â See pictures.I was pleasantly surprised at how good the friction damping is for a tripod in this price range. It is very smooth and adds a level of confidence when panning horizontally and vertically, giving me a higher quality experience than I expected. Iâll be using this tripod in a new video project this summer. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the friction damping is for a tripod in this price range. It is very smooth and adds a level of confidence when panning horizontally and vertically, giving me a higher quality experience than I expected. Iâll be using this tripod in a new video project this summer. I have come to trust the Neewer brand for good quality equipment that is reliable.

Professional has a wide range today, and while we can find a professional tripod with 60 lbs capacity at 4 times the price, this one has a smaller (but real) 17 lb capacity, but this is enough for a good range of equipment today, including mine. The movement is really fluid, no shuddering when initiating the movement and a slow deceleration when you stop the movement. I used it on my 75 mm telescope at 100x and is a charm to use. If, like me, you need a video tripod that is not made of plastic, won't shake and has a fluid motion holding moderate weight equipment, then this one is for you.
This is the little brother of the more expensive TP75. They share the same base, and a similar quick release system. The main difference is that the head on the TP75 has adjustment for the level fluidity for both pan and tilt, while this one, the TP74, has a fixed amount of friction.
The tripod description is pretty complete and accurate already, I'll try to no repeat it and bring extra information. I'll be using this tripod mainly with a 17 in teleprompter or as a base for my telescope. For me, it looks a little overkill for my mirrorless camera alone, or my current camcorder, but as I got a monitor this will be just perfect.
QR operation: The QR plate has enough clearance to install and remove a larger device like the teleprompter without hitting the knob or other components.
Legs: Smaller tubing from the upper sections are 14 mm while the tubing from the lower section is 18 mm. The clamp holds firmly, and they can be adjusted with a screw in the back if they get loose over time.
Feet: I saw no evidence (key slots or holes) that the feet could be unscrewed and replaced by spikes or larger foot. It looks to be a built-in ball at the ends that fits into the rubber feet (the rubber can be removed and replaced).
Level: Level bubble is OK, if I centre the bubble and pan 180 degrees, the bubble touches the level circle. This is precise enough for me. The bowl shape base does a good job for adjusting the level. This is a 75 mm, while others may use 100 mm.
Levers: Levers for pan lock and handle are spring-loaded, they can be pulled and relocated if you are in a tight spot.
Overall, this is a great tripod for my usage
