Step 1

Tilt and insert one side into the slots.

Step 2

Insert the other side into the slot then slide until it clicks in place.

Removable Trays

This product comes with one filter trays. If you need to remove them, just press the "Unlock Button" and then push a tray out.

Easy Securing

Insert the filter into the slot of the filter tray, then turn clockwise and tighten the "Filter Locking Knob"to secure the filter.

I recently bought two Haida CPL+VND 2 in 1 filters and some step-up rings. I really like them and they are easy to travel with. But they can be a bit fiddly and VND are often problematic for video, I recently filmed an interview and accidentally moved the ring and changed the exposure. Thankfully it didn't make much impact but it could have done.

I've steered clear of matte boxes as they seem a bit cumbersome, but this mini matte box has made me reassess that. It attaches directly to the lens (I'm a Micro Four-Thirds user and this attaches fine to my larger Leica lenses) and then up to two rectangular filters can be used in the matte box.

I haven't been able to use this with two filters but I've tried it with one and it felt really nice, the second filter holder slides into the first and is very secure so I can imagine a second filter in there would not add much weight and would feel solid.

There is no 'wiggle', this fits firmly and even if the locking mechanism did get slightly loose over time, it can be tightened. The barn door is excellent, it's very light and the position can be adapted so that it drops nicely over both filters if you have 2 installed (a second filter makes the entire rig slightly thicker so the door needs to adjust to accommodate it).

I'm very impressed, the entire thing is very light and once you've assembled and siassambled it a couple of times it literally just takes a minute, it takes no longer than installing step up rings and the CPL filters I have now, plus it looks very professional!

In a nutshell: for photography whilst out walking I'll stick to my circular filters, but for interview scenarios I think I'll switch to using this matte box - I'm very impressed at how rugged and light this is, and there are so many rectangular filter options out there to use this with.
