Okay for light-duty use or if/when you are on location and forgot gear and "need it now"
This backdrop support kit is quite flimsy and not without its flaws. That being said, it will definitely get the job done but do not expect longevity from the kit.Clamps are the same quality that you would get at a dollar store, so no plus or minus here; they do the job just as well as bargain store clamps would. Nice to have in the kit though!Sandbags do a good job. Would suggest putting sand in zip-lock style bags to contain mess. The bags have two zippers to help contain the sand and to distribute the weight. The zippers are a missed opportunity however, they should have been sewn opposite each other to help keep the sand from migrating out and to offer a better "seal".The tripods are very light weight and there is a lot of flex in the posts at full extension. I would recommend that you never fully extend the centre posts, rather extend them all the way and then lower them 1-2" (at least) to give more rigidity. In t his manner, the tallest you can go with reasonable rigidity is just a little over 6'6". You absolutely need to use sandbags with these tripods; trust me - disaster will ensue if you get lazy during setup (ask me how I know).The cross-beam is the weakest part of this kit by far. They are your standard "tent pole" type design where the posts inter-lock by inserting a smaller diameter into a larger diameter. This is a VERY weak design and I predict that the posts will fail at these couplings. I am not thrilled to see this arrangement. In addition to a poor (but easy to manufacture) design, one of my sections is missing the internal "spring post" retainer which is rather annoying.The carrying case is functional but also quite cheap feeling. I don't expect it would stand up to daily use, but then again, nor would the rest of the kit which is why I firmly suggest that this kit is only sited to very occasional use.All criticisms aside, the kit does its job and is a valuable addition in certain circumstances.
