What is Colostrum?
- In the pregnancy around 33-37 weeks and within 3-5 days after delivery, moms will shed a few drops or small colostrum.
- Colostrum is rich in nutrients, and high in protein. Newborns easily absorb it and plays a vital role in the baby's early growth.
- Tips: Use all colostrum in the collector for one feeding and discard the remaining colostrum to maintain optimal freshness & quality.
- NB: Colostrum collectors aren't equivalent to breast pumps. It's used for collection and can't replace breast pumps.

The Momcozy Colostrum Collector kit is a nice addition to help support breastfeeding. The tubes are designed to either remove the top and then pour the colostrum directing into the tub or suck it up by squeezing the tube. See the video. The nipple is round in shape. See the picture. The handy food grade tubes are able to stand up to avoid spillage. The storage box will be handy to keep everything together. As the baby gets older these tubes could be used to store small amounts of baby food.
Pay attention to the cleaning and sterilizing instructions in the one page user manual. No customer support or warranty information is provided. The box says the product is medical grade silicone-safe and secure. I have no way to validate this information.

I got this for a family member who was really happy to try this product. She said it is very easy to use and good quality. She appreciates the plastic container it comes with so she can bring the kit along with her when she is out for the day.
