Not much more to say except it's capable of doing the basic work and far more for a very good price.
It is far better than what I had in school way back when.
Now it's more for hobby purposes and it's almost overkill for that. This should suffice for 90% or more users.

This was bought as a Christmas gift for my child but I think I ended up enjoying it more. It comes with a few pre-made slides but also a ton of blank ones. When I plugged it in the light didn't work right away, which made me wonder if it arrived damaged.. but it did turn on eventually, I just wonder how long that will last.

Bonne qualité très grand intérêt de la part de l’enfant

I can still remember Christmas morning in 1986 when ten-year-old me got my first microscope. I absolutely loved that thing, and spent more hours with my eye peering intently through its lenses than I’d care to count, so I know how special a microscope can be to a young person.
This scope is very impressive. It isn’t a toy…it’s a genuine microscope that’s not too far removed from the ones we used to use in university. The optics aren’t as well-made, of course, but I’m absolutely AMAZED at the quality they’re offering for just over $100. I honestly wasn’t expecting this level of workmanship (or so many great features) at this price.
The aluminum construction feels very sturdy and it comes in a lovely padded case with shape-cut foam. The top layer is constantly falling out, but you can fix that with a little tape or glue. A variety of extras are included (prepared and blank slides in durable boxes, multiple oculars, a phone mount, etc.), which makes a nice starting point for a beginner. Three oculars are included, and the 2X can stack with either of the others to increase magnification.
The features are very nice, and certainly far better than I expected. The stage has a metal slide clip and knurled knobs that control fine movements to center your slide under the lenses (which gets more important at higher magnifications). LED light sources are available both on top and bottom, which is a great feature when looking at different specimens. Even better, there’s a dimmer knob to control the amount of light that reaches your eye. They’ve really engineered this well.
Of course, there will be a few not-so-great things, too. First, the instructions are poor, and are quite inadequate for a beginner microscope. Second, the power adapter doesn’t fit well and sometimes disengages from the connector. Third, the prepared slides are poorly glued and difficult to see through, and the slide boxes have no markings to indicate which way is up. It’s easy to open them upside down and have all the slides tumble out. Worst of all, this set uses glass coverslips, which I don’t think is appropriate for beginners. They’re easy to drop or break, and could cause cuts.
Lastly, the phone attachment is a fabulous idea, but it doesn’t work very well. First, you have to remove the ocular from the microscope and place it in the end of the tube, where it’s very loose and could fall out and get damaged. Worse, this is designed for center-camera phones, so if your phone’s camera is mounted to one side, this will be unbalanced and hang at an angle. It’s still useful, just not as useful as it could be with a few tweaks.
Pros:
-Sturdy aluminum construction; feels much more expensive than it is
-Wonderfully made with lots of great features you wouldn’t expect at this price point
-Lovely padded storage case
-Includes 30 slides in secure plastic boxes (10 prepared slides and 20 blank)
-Three ocular lenses included (2X, 10X, and 25X), and the 2X can stack with either of the others
-LED light sources on top and bottom
-Dimmer control
-Has metal slide clip and fine tuning knobs to move the stage
-Optics are pretty impressive for the price
-Focus knobs feel firm with little play
Cons:
-Power adapter fits loosely in jack and appears to be quite cheap
-Instructions/manual are very cursory and not helpful for a beginner
-Ocular bottles and slide boxes can be quite difficult to open, even for an adult
-Glass coverslips are potentially dangerous; plastic would be better
-No markings on slide boxes to show which end is up; will fall out if you open them the wrong way
-Phone adapter is a nice idea, but doesn’t work well; balance problems for phones with cameras located to one side
-Prepared slides are poorly made; difficult to use effectively
At $105.99, I think this is priced very, very attractively. Most comparable compound scopes are at least $20 more, and if you can grab this one while they’re still offering the $20 coupon, you’ll have a sizzling deal on your hands. This would be a wonderful gift for any science lover, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Surprising

For the price, I cannot complain. In fact, far from it as my first slide viewed through this microscope was observing a rotifer. Magnification distortion seems fairly minimal (around endges) and there was one spec on the larger magnification lense. Its likely a flake or chip, but for the work I do, its fine. I wont even dock it a star just for that, considering the price, and the fact that it comes with slides, covers, even pipette and swabs. Very good deal.

Great choice for kids 5+

I tried a couple of kid's microscopes and was very disappointed with the quality. I bought this for my 5-year-old grandson. He loves it. If you; 've never used a microscope before, look online about how to set up the lenses because the instructions are not great. Other than that, it's excellent quality with a sturdy metal body, quality lenses, glass slides, and a great protective case. This will last him all through high school.

Despite poor instructions, excellent beginner set
Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2023
I want to talk about what this kit got wrong first:
1. The instructions are horrible. This is clearly a student/amateur microscope, meaning that anyone buying this kit or receiving it as a gift should be given clear directions. They made a feeble attempt to look like they did their due diligence by including one color picture with a few call-outs for different parts of the microscope, but when you turn the page to Operation Instruction, you’re told things like “…you should adjust the iris diaphragm of the condenser and different brightness of the light.”—If you aren’t familiar with microscope operation, you’ll have to do an Internet search for iris diaphragm, condenser, etc. because this guide never shows/explains them. Other sentences are just mangled translations, like “Don’t dismantle the instrument rashly besides the replaceable lest the correct position should be breached.” What????
I’m sorry, if you have an international company with addresses in Germany and the UK (as an entire half page of the instructions is dedicated to), surely somebody speaks English well enough to give things a once-over? It’s just lazy.
2. This is nitpicky, but since there are 3 boxes of slides and they all look the same, I wish they’d clearly labeled the ones that have empty slides vs. sample slides. It’s easy to take out the top box, see empty slides, and assume they’re all empty. Then you miss the bottom box that has prepared slides with feathers, wood, hair, etc.—if you’re getting this gift for a kid with a short attention span, make sure to point out that they can just fire up the microscope and start using it right away using the prepared slides! They did kind of phone it in on some of the slides, one of which is just a printed letter “A” and another is a dot of red paint. What about like, a bee mandible or something? I don’t know.
3. No enclosed guide/labels to explain what the parts in the kit ARE. If you don’t recognize the weird plastic doodad next to the power supply as a phone mount for clamping in your smartphone to take awesome pictures, you’ll seriously miss out!! Half the fun is taking pictures to record and share what you see.
N.B. although it’s never explicitly stated, the included microscope lenses don’t seem to be immersion oil friendly (and none is included), so don’t get it if you need it for that.
Okay, done with complaints! I wanted to mention a couple highlights they really nailed:
1. The zippered grey storage bag with handle is SO MUCH BETTER than the weak dust covers that come with most microscopes. There’s just no comparison—it’s much easier to store this way. If you legitimately have the table space to always have it out and will miss the dust cover, you might feel differently. For me, the zippered bag is much appreciated.
2. They even include the phone mount so you can take pictures with your smartphone. Not that it’s an expensive component, but normally it’s a separate part you have to buy. Having it included and easy to store in the bag is fantastic.
Overall, it’s an excellent kit for beginners and has pretty much everything you need, although it’s severely lacking the kind of support and instruction that beginners require. If you’re getting it for a kid, be prepared to help them learn how to make adjustments and/or find some YouTube videos.

I haven't had a microscope in a long time, and I guess they don't make em like they used to?
The good: it comes in a foam compartment soft carrying case, excellent to keep it safe when not in use.
The light options are great, with both a top light shining down on the subject, and an underside, shining up through slides and translucent items. The light has a dimmer knob to avoid blinding yourself. I don't have need of the color filters, but it changes the color of the light on your sample.
It comes with a box of samples, and two more of empty slides and mounting squares so you can make your own. The first thing I did was look at the fibers of a piece of tissue wrapping paper that came in the carrying case.
The platform can be moved in a variety of ways while examining objects, and gives you pretty fine control.
The bad:
The instructions, are kind of awful. They reference parts that do not exist, and the diagrams are incomplete.
The thing that actually is annoying is that the eyepieces do not secure in the microscope. You just drop them in the tube where they sit loosely. You're constantly trying to hold them still while looking through them and focusing. The worst of these is the phone mount, which in turn flops loosely on the loose eyepiece. My old one had eye pieces that screwed in securely.
I feel like I could use a third hand to hold all the loose parts from moving around.
