I love this thing. However, the use case is to put lights on it. I've also only used it for a day, but it is precisely what I needed. DO NOT use this with a heavy camera; however, it is perfect for lighter items like lights or phones.

- It is light, so carrying it around is fantastic
- It's not as long, but it can be used as a selfie stick. The versatility is awesome.
- It extends but uses pressure (no locking) so consider this when buying (hence the no heavy items)
- I prefer plastic to metal because of its weight. Also doesn't get as cold to the touch. Metal in Canadian winter + metal do not mix. The plastic seems fairly rugged.

I have high hopes for this, might get another one.

Honestly not great for much more than a GoPro, especially if extended. I purchased the stand for a Mini Projector, even without extending the height, it sits on the bottom of the vertical pole and this makes the stands less effective. Wobbly. Trying to find other uses, but it won't hold my DSLR. Looks like i'll just have to keep it around for my GoPros.

I use my SONY RX-0 mini cinema camera as my webcam, but I also like to take it along on trips for recording or streaming remotely, or just for getting tricky hard-to-reach shots. So I needed an adjstable mini-tripod for when it's being used as a webcam, and an extentable/adjustable ball-mount stick for those tricky shots (reaching through or over a fence for example), and I needed it to be light so I could toss it in my EDC bag without noticing the weight. Oh, and I was on a budget.
This ticks every box, and I'm extremely pleased with it.
If I had a magic wish for this device, I'd love for the extendable arm to be a bit longer and bit more solid, but being realistic, both the length and sturdiness are pretty good as they are now, especially for the money.
I wouldn't suggest mounting a full-frame camera on this thing, but for a mini camera, or a compact vlogging camera, it's perfect.

Lack of locking mechanism is puzzling

Something that was not obvious to me when I bought this is that there is no locking mechanism for the main telescoping rod. It stays extended entirely based on friction. Which is a problem to me in two ways. One is that it the rod is (by necessity, because of this) pretty stiff, and so it's a fight to extend it when you take it out of storage. And two is that it limits the weight capacity of what the tripod can hold. That's especially annoying because the side-mounted cold shoe is part of what sold me on this, but good luck getting this to support the weight of two things (like a camera plus a light). It just seems like an unnecessary compromise, every other tripod I've used has a locking mechanism.

Credit to the fact it does store very compactly, which is a big plus to me, for how I use this. And it is suitable for mounting something relatively lightweight, like a PC webcam, or a video light (in my case, a Key Light Mini).
