Overall rating : 9/10
Pros:
-High DPI range from 80 to 24000
-Lots of reprogrammable buttons
-Ergonomic shape makes it comfortable to use for long periods
-A good quality mouse wheel that can either spin freely, allowing you to quickly scroll through documents, or more granularity when you need more precision
-Logitech G Hub app allows you to set different key profiles for different apps, and allows you to link different keyboard macros to buttons on the mouse
Cons:
-The lack of RGB might be seen as something bad by some, but personally I think the mouse is great even without it
-The free scroll mode for the wheel is harder to control precisely, and is really sensible to the slightest movement
-For the price, a detachable cable would be better
G502X is the best mouse for me for sure.
It's comfortable and fits in the hand well, though the default thumb button gets in the way constantly. It comes with an easy replacement that removes the thumb button, but the instructions on it were incredibly unclear on how to remove it. Fortunately it was easy to figure out that it's just held on magnetically and can be removed with ease and replaced just as easily.
The G-Hub interface for setting up the key bindings and DPI is... clunky and unintuitive at best. Like basic level UI problems, like... clicking on the universal cog wheel that says "Device settings" on mouseover is where you'd think you'd go for changing device settings. You would be wrong. That involves clicking on the picture of the mouse itself which doesn't have any feedback on mouse rollover. There are a large number of other clunky user interface issues with the software part, but it is effective, just annoying to use. Fortunately you don't have to use it very often.
While some people really want the lighter mouse design and will be pleased with the g502x being substantially lighter than previous models, I can't help but think it feels like a hollow piece of cheap plastic, and I really miss the g500's insert for modular weights. Having just changed over from an mx518, it feels "too light" by far and will take some serious getting used to, but that's purely a personal preference thing. Just take it into account when purchasing is all.
These are relatively minor nitpicks though. Everything else about it is great, but the nature of the problems I have are the dividing line between "very good" and "truly great" is all. Still a very solid 4/5 but I couldn't in good conscience call it a 5/5 mouse when it's missing features from older models and has such a terrible user interface for the setup software.
Also note this particular model is the wired mouse, so it has no battery life, so that doesn't really make sense to have as a rating at all. Supposedly the wireless version has 130+ hours "minimum" of battery life, so that's pretty amazingly good, but I can't verify that myself as mine is only the wired version as I personally dislike wireless mice because they have a bad habit of losing power when I'm in the middle of something important.
There is a lot on this mouse to like, and some minor things that could be improved but overall fantastic mouse. I never personally owned the original g502 but i used it often so ill try to compare them the best i can.
Pros:
-amazing comfort and shape for long use times
-very good accuracy and response time with a 1000hrz polling rate
-completely customizable settings for al of the programmable buttons and ability to change dpi levels
-is capable of storing 2 entire profiles with different buttons and dpi levels programmed for each one changeable via the G9 button (basically instead of programming a mouses buttons once you can have 2 separate profiles you can swap in between.
-the two profiles can be stored onboard the mouse and used with any pc with onboard memory
-optical switches give a faster response time and make faulty double clicking impossible
-dpi shift button can be changed or removed to become flush with mouse.
-infinity scroll wheel
-lightest g502 ever weighing less than a g203 at only 84 grams still keeping the same great build quality. massive difference from g502s lowest weight at 132grams
Cons:
-mouse skates are scratchy brand new and take a few hours of use to become perfectly smooth with round edges
-dpi light has been moved in front of the scroll wheel and now changes color instead of the shifting led on the g502 that was on the side, which for most people including me is a pro but for those who are colorblind might be hard to tell what dpi you are on.
-no rgb (which for me is arguably a pro)
-no more adjustable weights
overall this is an amazing mouse and my favorite g502 ever but to those who miss the rgb and weights of the normal g502 it might not be. personally never cared for either of those features so I consider this mouse an awesome upgrade to the original g502.
One of the most popular gaming mouse got an impressive refresh and totally worth the upgrade.

The best part about it is the amount of buttons and general utility it provides for non-gaming tasks. The scroll wheel unlocks and can spin at high speeds, and it can tilt left and right for horizontal scrolling. You have three thumb buttons, two extra buttons next to the left mouse button, and a middle button below the scroll wheel toggle. All of the buttons can be rebound, and you can also have an extra "layer" of buttons that can be switched to when a specific button is held (I use the "sniper" button for this). This means you get a ton of easily-accessible shortcuts which makes navigating web pages or documents very convenient.
Only two possible downsides to consider: it's wired, but the cable is very thin and light, and not having to charge ever is a big plus. There's also no RGB, which isn't a deal-breaker for me but some might find it disappointing.
The newer switches are significantly louder with a more clicky / pingy sound than the older model. The primary/secondary buttons have a distinct metal ping sound, while the other buttons have a loud plastic click sound. Probably twice as loud as my previous mouse.
The newer "HERO 25K" sensor seems great so far, noticeably more responsive than my previous mouse, and seems accurate. Hopefully this continues to be the case as I break it in.
Aside from it being louder, the only major complaint I have is the cable. Previous G502 series models had braided cables, and I expected this when I ordered. Turns out Logitech decided to ditch the braided cables for the G502 series around 3 years ago. Additionally, the new cable is 1ft shorter than my previous model. It barely reaches the USB port for my current setup, but thankfully has just enough slack to work without having to rearrange everything. However, this 1ft difference does somewhat limit how far I can move the mouse compared to before.
Overall, happy with the mouse, mainly wish Logitech hadn't dropped the braided cabling because it feels cheaper and less durable. In the future, wish Logitech would make the cables hot-swappable like the G900 series so customers can at least "upgrade" to a braided cable if they desired. Considering tearing them both apart to swap cables.
I like quality equipment. Unfortunately every mouse brand I have bought over the last 30 years has disappointed me greatly except one brand- Logitech! They have always restored my belief in quality products! And this mouse, the G502 X Wired Gaming Mouse, is undoubtedly the most supreme mouse I have ever had! And not even a costly mouse at that. At only $64.18 tax included I consider this the best I have ever touched. my last mouse, (call of duty model), finally went out, which should give you an idea of how long they last! Hope this one matches that!
