I live in a 3-floor townhouse and I figured it was probably best to put this on the second floor so I can get good reception throughout the house.

After a couple weeks of poor WiFi reception upstairs (where I use my computer the most), I decided to move the router upstairs. I figured that the WiFi reception in the basement and second floor would suffer, but I was surprised to find out that even in the basement, my WiFi devices would get very strong connections! For some reason, it seems to project downwards better than it does upwards. I have my wireless antennae positioned like so: \|/, with the left and right antennae tilted in 45 degree angles. Your mileage may vary due to different home configurations, wall thickness, etc.

This was a breeze to setup and you really didn't need much technical knowledge at all. Just connect this router to your cable modem, connect a computer to the router's default WiFi (usually Linksys-<string of numbers>), and follow the on-screen instructions. The WiFi settings are very easy to access once you got everything set up. There's a USB port on the back of the router, and if you plug in a USB flashdrive or hard drive, you'll be able to use it as a local NAS.

The biggest selling point for me was the customer service. They have 24-hour customer support via chat, and they won't ask for a proof of purchase to help you set up your device. That means you'll get this benefit even if you plan on buying this used.

I never really used any of the more advanced settings, so no comments there.

Wifi speed is great but the coverage is not the best. The signal drops to half compared to archer C80 at the same distance. If you have a smaller house, get this one because the price is so good. For some reason, I got latency spikes during video conferencing which makes the voice and video lag behind.

Bought it in August and everything was working perfectly to a certain extent.
Great features and really user friendly. That's the only reason why It deserves at least 1 star.
Right after the Return option was over, it started randomly disconnecting. The modem still has connectivity though.

Temporary fix: Restart Router every time it crashes.
Changed Router settings, change WIFI channel, changed DNS, did firmware update and still had random disconnections.

Linksys Support Experience:

**Update**
After over 170minutes worth of conversation with Linksys spread across almost 2 weeks, I'm finally getting a replacement. Even though the Canadian section of their site mentions Advanced or Standard replacement, they only offer Standard replacement meaning you send the router first then they send you a replacement. Takes 3 to 7 days...

Contacted support to get a replacement and they made me do another firmware update, a reset and gave me directives to set up the router. They said "if it doesn't work, call again and we'll do the replacement process." It still didn't work.

Contacted them again to get the replacement but instead, they wanted to do the same process they did few days before (reset and set it up again, wait to see if it works....) but at that point that's a lot.

Now the supervisor from the support department told me to contact the replacement department. When I called, waited 30minutes and they hung up before I could even reach a human. I called the support department back and apparently "They can't hear me talking" but I was able to order food normally... Strange.

**Update #2**
Late update...I got the replacement and it caused the same issue the same day. I ended up buying another brand. The new router from the other brand has been solid and I'm still using it as of December 2023.
