Can they be used if my stove and countertop are not the same height?

Our carefully crafted design and flexible silicone material means that our gap covers conform to your gap, regardless if your stove and countertop are level. However, for a better and more snug fit, we recommend that the height difference is minimal.

Do they melt on a stove and are they safe for my gas stove?

Our premium silicone offers a high level of heat resistance, ensuring that they do not melt if used properly. Our design is such that there is a shorter flap which sits on the stove, with little exposure to any heat / flame produced by your hobs.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Absolutely! Simply stick them in the top rack of your dishwasher, and they’ll be good as new! Alternatively, you can simply wipe them down with a damp clothe.

What size should I choose?

These covers are good. They do prevent debris from falling between our oven and the counter. The only issue and it's a bit of a big one is that they really don't want to stay in place. Especially one of the two for some reason keeps wanting to pop up. The way they are designed the inside edge which is supposed to fit in the gap between your oven and counter top does not really fit well. They finally seem to be working for the time being but I had to really work the cover along this inside edge to make it stick in place and expect in time that it will pop out again. A bit frustrating.

The quality of these Stove Counter Gap Covers by Linda's Essentials are a lot better than I had hoped.
(For readers uninterested in details kindly skip to the "Bottom Line" below.)
They are available in 3 colours & 3 sizes. I chose my covers in Clear because it made the most sense for my decor & I'm pleased with that choice. I went with the 30" length because I'd rather them be a bit too long than too short. This turned out to be a good idea because the gaps on either side of my stove are different in length (counter on one side & wall on the other). This brings me to my point which is that I needed to cut one of the covers. This was surpisingly easy to do with regular kitchen scissors because the covers have heft, they're sturdy, not flimsy. However, this doesn't prevent them from being flexible which is necessary for proper fit. Speaking of fit, there's a "lip" toward one side that slides down into the "abyss" helping the non-slip covers to "anchor" themselves further.

The covers are made from "Food Grade Silicone - 100% BPA Free", & are "Heat Resistant - up to 446 degrees F. or 230 degrees C." This was relevant to me because as mentioned, these were intended to use to cover the gaps on either side of my stove. While I don't have a dishwasher, it's safe to use if the reader has one.
As already mentioned, these covers exceeded my hopes. The idea is a simple one & as quoted by Linda* & written on the box which houses the covers, "Every small convenience makes life in the kitchen that tiny bit easier." And while I absolutely agree, if the reader has ever tried retrieving an object or worse - FOOD (which involves retrieval AND clean-up of possible HAZMAT consequences! Lol) that's fallen into the "abyss" then gap covers suddenly morph from a convenience of ANY size into a necessity of epic proportion!!

*There really is a Linda! I know this because I needed to contact the seller about a question I had & needed some related advice & direction. Linda herself responded almost immediately & then addressed my issue with a detailed answer which clearly showed the time & effort taken. I am so impressed & grateful for the way I was treated. This, however, is not the main reason for my giving this product a 5 star rating because that it deserves based on the merits I've already described. I wanted to mention my experience, though, because if the reader is considering purchasing gap covers, then these would be the ones & this would be the seller from whom to purchase them.

Bottom Line: Buy them!

These clear strips fit between the stove and the counter and keep food and grease from splashing down the sides of the stove where you can't reach them to clean. I like the clear ones because it allows the countertop to show through. The cleanup is very easy also, they just wipe clean. I cut mine to size and they've worked perfectly since I've installed them.

We have had a a gap of about 1” either side of our cooker since we replaced our old cooker which has enabled food and crumbs to fall down the side and is difficult to clean. However since applying this simple strip I have found it easy to wipe down and it stops anything falling through the gap. A simple marvellous invention. Nice and sturdy although , as I have a gas hob I need to be careful the flames don’t touch the silicon as I fear it may burn. So far, it has been a Godsend!
