I think this is a cleverly designed monitor that really goes out of its way to prevent false alarms and put parents’ minds at ease. There’s still some room for improvement, but it’s mostly minor. One thing that really annoyed me was that if you don’t use a specific branded Panasonic battery, it voids your warranty. While it’s a minor issue, I really don’t approve of that kind of forcing people to buy a certain brand of battery. For that reason and the other minor problems, I did remove a star.It works really well, though placement is key. You have to make sure it’s only used when baby is still (no car seats or cribs with vibration etc) and it must be placed above the belly button. If you’re getting a false alarm, pay attention to your placement. First, the alarm will attempt to ‘stimulate’ baby into moving through vibration and if it still doesn’t detect movement or breathing, it will set off the ‘emergency’ alarm.I don’t mind that it doesn’t text to my phone (the device is self-contained), but I do think the emergency alarm could be a lot louder. Heavy sleepers or those with big houses, could easily miss it. That being said, if you have a noise-activated baby monitor (something most paranoid parents will have), it wouldn’t be an issue at all.The other thing that might cause a problem for some people, is that it won’t work with all clothing types. It can be clipped onto a diaper, button up romper, or used on the pants waistband, but if you have a zip up romper or a one-piece that fastens at the back, for example, it won’t be able to be used. If you know you’re planning to have a device like this, it might be worth planning baby’s pajamas around the idea that you need to clip this above the belly button.I was impressed by how small the device was. It looks bigger than it is, in the product photos. It’s really lightweight and didn’t cause any distress. I like that it comes with two batteries, but do wish it was rechargeable, given the price point. The buttons are well designed and easy to press, yet still stiff enough that they won’t accidentally be activated.In conjunction with a noise-activated baby monitor, I think this is a great way to give yourself peace of mind, but make sure to follow the instructions well, especially if you’re getting false readings, as I found this to be very accurate.Note: Video shows initial vibration and emergency alarm, with sound.

I bought this because I wanted to make sure my baby is physically breathing. I didn't want a device that had to go to my phone and measure oxygen level before alerting me something is wrong. It really made me less anxious at night and while my baby napped. I put this on top of my baby's woolino and it works fine. Yes there's a few false alarms but I'd rather have that than a non breathing baby. My LO rolls over now, so when the alarm goes off I know she rolled and put it on the side or her back, then I know she's breathing while tummy sleeping (we room share). One reviewer mentioned using a stretchy band to keep it on the tummy so even if baby rolls over, it'll still work. Just place it slight off to the side.
Btw amazing battery life. 6 months in and the battery is still good!

I am so sad. I bought this product a couple years ago for my premie baby. Only used it for two months. I pulled it out again for my new baby, it worked for a couple weeks and now it keep shutting off. I’ve changed the batteries twice. It turns out but keeps shutting off.

My baby sleeps on her back, in a pyjama and sleep sack. Therefore I place the device directly on the diaper, by the navel, and we are getting 2-4 false alarm per night! Of course I'd rather false alarm than no alarm but at this point I just don't trust this thing either way. I've read mix reviews and was hopeful but I will be returning this item and look at other avenues.

So far this little device is pretty great. I love that it is simple and lofi. I did not like the ones with apps and Bluetooth because they gave false alarms. This one has a battery and just works as it should. The only criticism I would have is the alarm is not as loud as other baby sleep monitors. Like the Snuzi is LOUD but it also gives false alarms. So my actual rating would probably be 4.5x If you have a baby monitor on though you would totally hear this one if it goes off. Taps the baby too. It’s definitely given us a lot of piece of mind. We use it for naps and bedtime! Oh one piece of advice I saw from another reviewer that was super helpful - cut an elastic waste band from another piece of baby pants for your kid and use it as a strap. Because not every outfit has buttons or pants.

It works beautifully, I feel so comfortable knowing it makes a sound when it powers on or off so if the battery were to die in the middle of the night (it hasn’t yet) it would make a sound that wakes me so I would know he was not being monitored any longer. So far only false. Alarm was while he was swaddled. (Which I learned after is not recommended with this monitor.) even when it alarms while Abby is asleep it doesn’t wake him enough to ruin his slumber, just gets him into a less deep sleep. I am already considering buying a second just in case this one were to ever quit working so we wouldn’t have to do a night without it. Affordable, reliable, it’s perfect!

I purchased two monitors for use with Twins. My twins are two months old and these have been great, I use them in conjunction with a Newton Mattress and a Baby Sense under the mattress crib monitor. My larger twin (10lbs 6oz) is a back & slide sleeper and we’ve had 3 false alarms that I believe are due to in accurate readings while on his side as he is breathing normally when they alarm. This being said, I’ll take the false alarm over no alarm any day. My smaller twin (8 lbs 4oz) is a a back sleeper and hasn’t had any alarms sound. They are easy to use, I sleep them in a onesie/ footed pants combo to have a waist band to clip them to. Clipping them to the diaper doesn’t seem as comfortable for their skin. I’ve also used button up sleepers and clipped them sideways through the button opening and that seems to be the most secure and comfortable way to attach them but harder for diaper changes in the night. I like that there’s a blue light that continues to flash as they’re on for peace of mind. The alarm is easily heard in the same room as baby, I wouldn’t feel comfortable using them if baby slept in a separate bedroom. I love that they aren’t WiFi/ App dependent and was a huge selling point for me. I highly recommend these for the newborn stage, I will be curious to see how they work as they start to roll and move about in their cribs as they age, but for the 0-3months stage they’re doing great. I also appreciate the affordable pricing, I got them on sale under $70. I recommend. I previously purchased the U-Sense monitors and didn’t like them, they relied on an app that didn’t give me peace of mind, didn’t seem accurate on temperature and movement readings and had to have a separate base station purchased to make it twin compatible.

this is my absolute favorite thing ive bought for my daughter, i recommend to every new and expecting mom i come across. its so simple and the only thing that helped me keep my peace of mind when my daughter decided she can only sleep when her face is stuffed in the side of her crib. the only times ive had false alarms is when i didnt swaddle her tightly enough and it falls off. i had so many issues with another brand that claimed to check temperature, heart rate, oxygen levels etc, it was never accurate and gave me so much anxiety. but with this one i can find comfort knowing shes definitely breathing, because if it didnt recognize some sort of movement it would go off.
