I didn't realize that the cubes would be foam and not totally square. They are really light weight and don't stay put very well. It can be a little frustrating. Other than that, cool. I love the idea.

The item is deceiving. The boars is plastic but all the pieces are made of foam. Not durable, easy for kids to bend and rip.

Cube pieces are foam, not plastic.
Could be fun for a wide range of ages.

The Learning Resources STEM Explorers Pixel Art Challenge has become an invaluable addition to our STEM education toolkit. With 402 pieces designed for kids aged 5 and above, this set not only sparks creativity but also lays the foundation for coding basics. It's a fantastic way to introduce children to the world of STEM while having fun.

What truly sets this kit apart is its ability to engage young minds in a meaningful way. It encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity, all while familiarizing kids with fundamental coding concepts. The pixel art challenge cards provide clear instructions and challenges that progressively build coding skills.

As a parent, I appreciate the educational value of this kit. It promotes hands-on learning and teamwork, making it ideal for both home and classroom settings. It's a refreshing departure from screen-based learning, allowing kids to interact with tangible elements.

Since introducing STEM Explorers Pixel Art Challenge, I've witnessed my child's enthusiasm for STEM soar. It's heartening to see them embrace learning with such enthusiasm. For its ability to unlock creativity, promote STEM skills, and make learning a joyful adventure, I enthusiastically award this kit a 5-star rating. It's a must-have for parents and educators looking to nurture young minds in the world of STEM.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Independent Play Project- (5.5 yo)

I bought this for a summer vacation independent play/activity option for my 5.5 yo. They love doing crafts and art projects, and I explained how to read a grid with a letter and number, and they were OFF.

It's been an obsession here, and it's let me cook and clean while they self educate without a screen 🙌

The foam pieces sometimes don't "click in" or lay flat which frustrates them, but not a huge deal. Definitely not a travel toy, the pieces fly out of moved, so plan on doing this at a kitchen table only.

Confidence building, and blows their mind when you teach them that pixels are what quilts, cross stitch and images on screens are made up of!
