Based on reviewer's experiences whose screen fell-off or bottom of the screen was hard to remove, I pried-off screen (using supplied plastic tool) three sides only, gently lifting less than 1/16" at a time, equally at all three sides (top, left and right) and finally lifted it about 3"-4" high from top only, so I could pull out existing SATA cable from HDD end only and then placed and re-connected a brand new, pre-formatted (osx extended) 2tb SSD on top of existing old drive, which remained inside. I did'nt had to remove any LCD cables or screws from old drive. (I used 2tb SSD, so it could be partitioned to install two operating systems later on).
I did not glued back right away until I installed new os using a bootable OS USB. After making sure everything worked, had no fan problem etc, I glued it back gently and tapped upper two corners of the screen for safety, which remained there few days.
Notes:
1. There is enough space for 7mm thick SSD+ old cable and it wont hit LCD if you secure them with duct tape and leave it there. (I taped SATA connecter as well so drive wont fall off due to heating etc. No sensors were found or accessible.
2. Old tape was easily using finger nails, since screen was still connected at the bottom. No cleaner was used.
3. I had to cut and remove new tape about 1/2" (left+right sides) as it was harder to reach bottom side (I used new tape for three sides only while old tape at bottom was still intact). Since new tape is a double sided tape, I glued three pieces on metal faces only and I left protective plastic on (intact) until I ensured mac's new operating system was working good. It was then turned off, removed protective plastics, and glued for the good.
4. I Installed Big-sur with no problems with updates or fans etc. Did not buy two headed 50$ cable for SSD with temperature sensor either. No need of any fan-control app.
5. If following my horizontal dismantle/assembly approach, make sure that there is room for boot USB underneath the computer.
6. Before starting or installing new OS, re-set/clear ROM/RAM of your mac: i.e Press and hold option(alt)+command(win logo key)+P+R keys, all together and start the computer. Keep holding+pressed all those 4 keys together, until you hear 2nd chime (it will boot twice), then keep the option(alt) key pressed, and remove the fingers from other three keys. Once you see 'boot options' with HDD logos, remove your finger from option key (or alt key if using windows computer keyboard). Your boot USB (or any USB drive) will always appear as 'orange' in color (as opposed to black HDD logo, which is always reserved for internal hard drives (hdd). Use arrow keys to select USB and hit enter to boot from it.
WARNINGS:
1. Under any circumstances, do not use ANY metal objects with glass screen (LCD). It can easily chip-off.
2. Use thumb pressure to glue back screen with new tape. Don't apply any extra pressure or place any object/weight on screen to glue back.
3. Before glueing screen, apply some even-thumb-pressure downward so there will be no gap at the bottom of screen. Since my screen wasnt upright or vertical during the assembly, I had about 0.010" gap at the bottom of the screen after final assembly. This gap disappeared after 24hr's run: Thus it's quite clear to me that LCD somehow shifted itself when I-Mac was running hot.
4. Prior to dismantle of your mac, transfer all of your personal files, deactivate any softwares etc and if possible, make a back-up of old OS on a spare USB drive with time-machine. Also make/prepare a bootable USB of OS of your choice and ensure that it works by testing it.
EDIT: No problems after one year, though price of this tape got doubled. I will keep those 4 stars.
Watch a tutorial before installing it. Overall, it has been a good experience so far. I recommend it.

I installed Windows 10 first then used a software tool to force update it to Windows 11. Windows 11 works perfectly and it’s fast. I played a few hours of Halo Reach and Call of Duty World at War and it’s handled it all with ease. What a nice way to breath new life into this older iMac.
