Needed a vent phone holder that would fit in a narrow vent (2022 Hyundai SantaFe). Tried a few others but the attachment base was too tall to fit. This unit has a relatively small attachment base, so just fits my narrow vent opening. The only small negative is, the side grabs are a bit on the low side (closer to bottom of phone) so if you turn the phone landscape, it's holding from fairly close to the bottom of the phone or one end so is not completely stable. If the side grabs were higher on the phone, landscape would have more support. Otherwise, works well .

We bought two, if your vehicle's vent material is soft it won't be tight and the unit will bend the vent material as we found out with our car, but the unit still functions well. It's a very simple device. Hooks into the air vent and is secured tightly by a quarter turn of a ring. It's really small compared to other phone holders which is great. It also operates very easily. Just put the phone on the little ledge at the bottom and gently press the side panels in. To release, just push a little button in the back. I have a large phone with acaaec with a cover and it fits in fine. And it is remarkably sturdy. My phone doesn't move and has never fallen.

One note - I have a Toyota Camry, and as others have written, the hook is too short to connect the device to the center vent, which for some reason has much wider flaps than the vent on the side. So I had to connect it to the vent on the side, between the steering wheel and the driver side door.
