Meets my expectations, only somewhat negative is lack of fine grained RGB control.
5 Stars
Meets my expectations, only somewhat negative is lack of fine grained RGB control.
If you're looking for more reviews, this display is pretty much identical to the more expensive US model 32GN650-B other than having 1 less HDMI port and the stand only tilts. The ICC profile posted on TFTCentral for that monitor matches closely the ICC profile I've created for this monitor.Out of the box, I feel this display is perfectly fine for the vast majority of people who would be looking for a display like this, gaming / web browsing / watching youtube, etc.My recommendations are to:Reduce the brightness to somewhere between 9-21 to get around ~80 to ~120 cd/m2 of brightness, which is the recommended range for home use (on my unit, 0 brightness is 49 cd/m2, 9 is 81 cd/m2, 12 is 90 cd/m2, 15 is 101 cd/m2, 18 is 110 cd/m2, 21 is 120 cd/m2, 50 is 203 cd/m2, 100 is 322 cd/m2).Disable the power saving feature, all it does is reduce the backlight, which you can do with the brightness control anyways.Turn the Black Stabalizer down to 0, by default it's at 50 and it destroys contrast.Disable DFC, with it enabled, it changes the backlight constantly based on what's on screen.Leave the Game Mode on Gamer 1, leave the Contrast on 70, going higher crushes bright colors, going lower crushes dark colors, leave the Sharpness on 50, the default is fine, leave the Gamma on 2 and the Color Temp on Custom with all the R/G/B and Six Color settings on their default, this puts you near 2.2 gamma and 6500K (D65) color temperature. As noted in the title, there's a lack of fine grained RGB control, which is common with computer displays so I won't ding the rating of this display because of it. The RGB control is single point, which makes it difficult to correct the display's color accurately using only the controls on the monitor itself, it requires using display calibration software to create a color correction profile. At minimum all displays should have at least two different points for RGB control.Another somewhat negative aspect is the OSD will timeout relatively quickly, within a few seconds, which makes it frustrating if you're trying to precisely calibrate settings and waiting on readings. An option to allow the OSD to remain until cancelled out would have been nice.An option to have the current refresh rate of the screen always displayed would have been nice as well. Currently it only shows on the OSD, which disappears after a few seconds. The Freesync feature works as expected, I've tested it using Plasma Wayland's Automatic Adapative sync setting and various games on Steam. The VRR frequency range as reported by the EDID is 48Hz to 165Hz, I've not tested the low frame compensation (LFC) feature, so I can't comment on that. Edit: After a few months of use, I can confirm the LFC works, you can test it with a program called vrrtest, look at the OSD' refresh rate and lower the frame rate in vrrtest lower than 48 FPS, and you will see the refresh rate of the monitor double or triple based on the FPS set in vrrtest.Obviously this display is not marketed at professional graphics artists, so the rest of the review isn't that important, but it provides some information for those who want it.My unit is within the advertised rated specifications, the contrast ratio is 2849:1 while the rated contrast ratio is between 1800:1 and 3000:1, the max brightness is 322 cd/m2 while the rated max brightness is between 280 cd/m2 and 350 cd/m2, the sRGB gamut coverage is 96.35% while the rated sRGB gamut coverage is between 90% and 95%.With default settings the 75% grayscale accuracy is 2.1 dE which is acceptable, the 25% grayscale accuracy is 15.1 which is not very good, and like I mentioned above, the RGB controls are single point, which makes it impossible to get a decent calibration using only the controls on the display, at best I could get the 75% grayscale accuract to 6.2 dE, the 25% to 8.4 dE with only the display's controls.Using a colorimeter (i1 display pro) with the calibration software called DisplayCAL to create / apply an ICC profile, the display then has 0.24 dE76 average accuracy and 1.04 dE76 max accuracy which is excellent.Edit (08 January 2022): Recalibrated the display, added pictures of post calibration results.

great monitor for money

I upgraded from a 144 hz, 24”, 1080p, curved MSI monitor (which I use as a second monitor now with this) and the difference is stunning. I am never buying a smaller screen again.

The VA panel has deep colours and I haven’t noticed any of the ghosting that other reviews mention, even in shooters. Related to that, since buying this, I have gotten way better in FPS games. The difference between 24 and 32 inch is huge, it is so much easier to see enemies.

Additionally, for office work, the screen is big enough that you don’t need a second monitor. You can comfortably use two applications side by side on this monster.

Some of the description isn’t clear so here is what I’ve found:
Has HDR
Has G-sync (just means it limits FPS to screen refresh rate, max 165, seems to work always, even with an Nvidia graphics card though it can be disabled)
Has 4 mounting holes on the back but I’m not sure on the spacing) will update if I find out)
Has 1HDMI port and 1 DisplayPort
Has a convenient joystick on the bottom to control settings, as well as a program you can download (OnScreen Control) to change picture settings

I upgraded to this from a 27" Samsung curved 1440p 144hz and was worried I'd miss the curve but I think I now like it better flat! The colours are vivid and sharp and the refresh rate is amazing at 165hz! I play a lot of Rocket League and the fast pace is perfect at 165hz, the ball looks so smooth I can focus on it much easier. Gsync or freesync works fine but I haven't found a need for it yet as my specs are high enough to hold a steady FPS so wouldn't notice it much. Overall great monitor for the price!

I had to return it.

The black smearing is so bad. As a non gaming monitor, for videos and light computer work it look fantastic. However even when dragging windows around with black the smearing is so bad.

If you want to consume videos and don’t do much fast paced work the contrast is amazing.

Second day with the unit and so far it's met my expectations.

As per reviews (of the GN600-B which is supposedly the same panel) the screen looks pretty good while gaming, but text could be a little bit sharper if you were planning on using it as a dedicated work monitor. It's plenty bright in a room without overpowering ambient light.

The stand is basic, but I've got it on a third party vesa mount so that's not an issue for me.

I've got a spyder Pro so I'm currently calibrating the colours on it, but (as has been mentioned in previous reviews here) it was already decently calibrated out of the box.

Overall, this is a great budget gaming monitor. Nothing else on the market has these features at this price point.
