This is a very decent 4k bluray player and as a bonus its region free.
Its small and sleek so it dosent take up too much room. My only real complaint is the remote, its fine and has all the buttons but i do find i need to push the enter button a couple times to get it to work sometimes but that dosent bother me too much.

A Very Good Bluray Disc Player

I ordered this player as an Amazon Warehouse deal along with an Amazon Basics 3ft HDMI to HDMI cable. This player does not include the HDMI to HDMI cable. I connected the player to an 32 inch RCA HD TV/DVD combination. The DVD player stopped working awhile ago but I did not want to waste the TV. Connected the Bluray player to the RCA TV was uneventful as the TV recognized the Bluray player immediately. I played a Bluray movie disc and did not experience any issues. I also tried to play movies in mp4 format which were written onto a BD-R recordable disc but this player does not player written discs which were written via multiple sessions. However, I saved the mp4 format movies onto a portable solid state disc (SSD) and connected the SSD to the player's USB 2.0 port located next to the power button. The mp4 format movies played without any issues. The player plays many other file formats and the remote control can be used to turn on the TV to which the player is connected and to adjust the volume controls of the TV. Overall, this Bluray player is working as expected.

This is a genuine 4k disc player, no region limitations, reads blu-ray, dvds, any disc you put in it, and gives it an upscaled quality that is impressive.

So why 4 stars? The Neutral screen before a disc is inserted is just a blidming white. Irritating and obnoxious like. Staring into the sun. There is no screen saver animation for a paused disc. And for internet access, it requires a LAN cable to your router, there's no wifi.

Still love this 4k player. Price is decent. Shipped in a day.

This was a replacement for a Sony DVD player that just died after many years of excellent service. The Sony was given to me. It did everything but BluRay. When it came to to replace it, I didnt go for another Sony. No reason other than I am cheap, and my needs are simple. I just waned a disc player than included BluRay. For about $100 all in, this player is hard to beat.

You need the remote to drive it. There are buttons on the front panel, but they are few and not well marked. The only output is HDMI. From what I can tell there are many DVD players that offer outs other than HDMI or HDMI and other outputs but once you start looking at BluRay players, its not uncommon to encounter only HDMI as the interface. The TV that it drives does not have HDMI but D/A, so I needed an HDMI converter. That was another $22. I was NOT prepared to replace the TV (monitor) for an HDMI port. The 3 cable D/A (stereo plus video) output has been good enough, and I really don't need to be able to count cat whiskers on the screen.

Its powered by a wall wart thats rated at 12V and 1A. Read: it takes very little power to operate - less than 12 watts.

Chances are your requirements in video entertainment are much more sophisticated than mine. That doesn't mean that this player won't rise to the occaision. What it really means is that my bar isn't that high and so long as it plays "discs", I'm happy. Yes, it will play audio and burnt CD and DVD just fine also. The player itself is dead quiet, small and almost invisible except for the green LED when its powered up. It does what I needed a player to do, and then some, I'm sure.

I purchased this as a gift for my father. But the system and streamming service is unresponsive. Spent an hour chatting with LG and Amazon agents to get a waranty repair only to be told the " unit is non-economicaly " so no repair service but exchangeable or refundable. The outcome is good because at least I get my money back. However my issue is that they shouldn't sell it in the first place if it's outdated and not functional. What a let down and waste of time! Save yourself a headache and don't buy this.

DVD, Bluray, Ultra HD -- these plus CDs and home burned discs. -All are part of my library, and so how nice to find a reasonably priced player that seems to handle them all perfectly.

The its sized to stack with standard hi-fi and video components , too, is a plus.

It does with wireless connection -- which for most of todays systems is redundant -- was for me no problem. Maybe even a plus.

Its remote is, as others say, very small. But its coding matcches an older LG remote that I still use on rare occasion. That to a player used solely for foreign coded DVDs. Now that one remote controls either and the rarely used player has its power cut off by an 'Alexa' switch so that it does not try to respond when I am not using it.

I purchased the unit, listed a "used but like new", and got a box that quite obviously had never even been opened.

I could not be more pleased!
