Product description

Gripe water is an old-time English remedy for soothing babies' gripes that has been passed down from generation to generation for more than a century. Kolik gripe water is effective for the gentle relief from the following babies' discomforts: Colic, cramps, upset stomach, hiccoughs, teething. Although alcohol is traditionally used to extract essential oils from herbs and plants, we recognize that some parents would prefer not to administer any preparation containing alcohol to their infants. For them, we developed the first alcohol-free Kolik gripe water in Canada. In this formulation, only purified water is used to extract the anti-gas and stomach calming properties of natural source fennel oil, from fennel seed. Fennel has been a reliable remedy for centuries, as it helps relieve stomach pains and cramps due to gas.

Thank goodness for this item. Our daughter has/had really bad colic. The crying was soooo bad all day, all night non stop crying. We’ve done everything under the sun and still won’t stop crying to a point where we felt so helpless. Until we came across Kolik. We just started using it since yesterday and we already see a huge difference. She doesn’t cry anymore after feedings and can sleep for hoursss unless we wake her up for feedings. Kolik is a life saver.

This works perfectly about 95% of the time. If my son is fussy, gassy, or won’t eat even when he is hungry, I give him this by itself in a bottle and he takes it right away, presumably because he likes the taste. Once in a blue moon, if he is extra fussy, I need to coax him to take it. Once he drinks it, he instantly calms down, as in the very second he drink the last sip, at the latest. It does not knock him out. It is not harmful so I don’t feel guilty using it. It just calms him down so he can resume drinking his formula and then go to sleep. There have been maybe a couple times when he did not get calm instantly. I had to coax him to take his formula after the gripe water. He felt better after 30-60 seconds in these cases. This gripe water is basically magic. I have tried other gripe waters with my first baby and they either didn’t work or they knocked her out due to harmful ingredients. Now this one does have sodium bicarbonate, and some websites say that is bad, but it is ok within the recommended doses, and aids in digestion by helping the tummy feel better. It reduces acidity in the stomach. Too much can cause the opposite problem, so just don’t overdose, that’s all. It does cause foul smelling farts, however, but it’s worth it. I find that switching formulas is very effective at reducing gripe as well. If your baby is using a formula that doesn’t work the best for him/her, this will help for sure until you find the right one. However, it’s not just gassiness that this helps with, unlike antiflatulants like Ovol. This helps no matter why the baby is fussy during/after a feed.

I will admit, this stuff does work, but my baby absolutely HATED it. So much so she started choking on it. This happened the third time we had to give it to her. She was terrified and it took a long time settle her back down. As quick as this stuff works, it’s not worth torturing my baby like that

This tastes great and even works on my 2.5 year old when he gets a bad case of hiccups! I’m a huge fan of gripe water but normally buy Mommy’s Bliss or Wellements. This one doesn’t have chamomile in it, which also helps soothe general fussies and discomfort. I’ve also tried the PM version of this and like it a lot better! We use it 24/7.

He’s older so he gets a full syringe if this. He seems to like the way it tastes! Highly recommend this.
