The Klein K1412CAN Klein-Kurve Dual NMD-90 Cable Stripper/Cutter's multipurpose actions quickly remove the outer jacket of Canadian NMD-90 Cables, strip and cut 12 and 14 AWG solid wires, and 14 and 16 AWG stranded wires, and cleanly shears 6-32 and 8-32 screws. As an electrician, I've tried many strippers and these have been my favorite. My last set lasted 6 years before I recently cut into a live wire and ruined the cutters. They would have lasted longer otherwise. I'm hard on them. Cutting things I shouldn't, dropping them from heights, leaving them in water, dirt or snow. These are very durable and they stay sharp for years. Very excited for a new set. People always ask how I strip wires so fast and I show them these. Excellent product, won't use anything else.

For installing electrical wires this is a great tool. The fact that you can score the entire outside sheating in one shot without damaging the individual conductor sheating inside is a huge time saver. The only con of that tool is the handle cover sleeves that are loose and not glued which makes them come off easily.

Apparently Canadian and U.S. NMD casings are different. Not sure if this is so, but didn't take the chance. VERY happy with this purchase. They work extremely well in stripping off the casing. Saves A LOT of time and makes a nice clean cut and easily removes the sheathing.

I get a new set of these about every two years as they do eventually go dull but I would never buy a different pair. I strip so much wire on a daily basis and these are by far the best I have ever used on the job site. Every strip is always super clean and effortless, the grip is comfortable even over a full day of use and these things take a lot of abuse. I have cut cables way too thick for these, but they get through them anyway and still remain in good condition.

I have some thick 12 gauge stranded copper high end stereo speaker wire
which I needed to cut and strip when installing my stereo speakers.
Previously, I used the very time consuming method of scoring the plastic
wire sheath with a razor and pulling it off... but this is very time consuming,
and in spite of my extreme care, I would always seem to cut through at least
two or three of the tiny strands of copper wire.
With this Klein Tools wire stripper, all I had to do was align the 12 gauge wire
with the hole marked "12" on the right side marked "AWG STRANDED"
(which is the same hole that is also marked "10" on the left side marked
"AWG SOLID"), and then press down, and twists back and forth a bit,
at an angle, pulling forward to push the scored / cut sheath away.
It takes just a little practice to get the right feel for it, and a bit of force
is required to tug the scored / cut sheath off, but it is not difficult.
Most importantly, not only is this much faster than manual scoring and pulling,
but the results are better: not a single stranded copper wire was cut in
the process, even though some firm twisting and tugged was implemented
to remove the wire's plastic insulated outer sheath. Very impressive.
This tool seems a bit more expensive than it should be, but the price does
reflect the quality of its construction.

In my line of work I have to carry a number of hand tools. I am always looking ways to condense the number of tools I need to carry. This tool is great for installing outlets and other electrical devices. It allows me to strip, twist and cut wires all in one tool. Now most lineman pliers will twist and cut with ease. The major advantage to these is the strippers. After using these for awhile, I can confidently use these for all the above uses and leave my strippers and lineman pliers behind. These are not as robust as a good pair of lineman pliers, but they are strong enough for most purposes. Time will tell how well they hold up, but so far I am enjoying them.
