These are delicious! Essentially, they're smaller, healthier versions of Pop-Tarts. The strawberry filling tastes reminiscent to Pop-Tart filling--though I haven't had a Pop-Tart in forever--and the icing on top of these crisps is better than Pop-Tart icing, as the Special K crisps use actual icing and not some baked-on crusty glob. The all-around texture and taste of these crisps is better than a Pop-Tart--soft and just a little chewy.
Really, the only downside to these crisps is their size. However, there are two in each wrapper, which makes up for it. Plus, there's nothing wasted with the crisps--with Pop-Tarts, I remember always hating the crust along the edges and really just eating it for the fruit filling and the "icing". With the Special K crisps, all of it is satisfying to eat. Being small and delicious, however, makes it difficult to refrain from eating more than two packages (or four crisps) at one time. Luckily, I bought the 24-pack!
There's little mess--these crisps don't flake, and they don't break apart easily. The filling keeps the crisp together. You might end up with a little icing to lick off your finger when you're done, but when has that ever been a problem?
I highly recommend. But if you love them, make sure you have enough of them, because they're easy to mow through like a bag of chips on a Friday night.
