I'm a hobby musician with a family that loves performing for each other just within the house. We jam on guitar piano and sing along. I have my living room setup to do just that. My rig is based around a simple fender passport live PA setup so we have xlr and patch cables all around the floor.What's most annoying is the black cables around the floor which we trip on in the living room.I've started purchasing wireless instrument transmitter receivers for guitars.... And that's reduced my black patch cables on the floor quite a bit.And now: enter this KIMAFUN Wireless xlr Microphone System.It's meant to turn your regular mics into wireless mics without the heavy cost of true pro grade wireless mics ( like Shure systems). This kit comes with transmitter side and receiver side. The devices simply plug into xlr in out of mic and mixer . You set the channel and go. It's as simple as that . If you have more than one mic you can buy more and set them on different channels. Of course the more you buy the more Interference co-channel.The system also allows for condenser mics that need phantom power. A simple button turns phantom on and off. This reduces battery life by around half. Normally with a dynamic mic without the need for phantom power, it lasts around 4 to 5h. With phantom, you might get around 2 to 3h.For small spaces , you don't really need the external antenna. Makes for a less cumbersome mic rig. But if you need the range, like for an outdoor setup, you might want to connect the antenna.While this make shift wireless rig is great for home setups and small room gigs, I can't recommend it for larger serious venues. Battery life predictability , and the robustness isn't good enough for such a serious paid venue . It's internal battery runs out and you don't have a way to swap new battery's. You have to charge it. Also tis very plasticy.... One drop and it's done. Honestly it's an amateur setup meant for just home and small pro Bono gigs.Charging mics is via included micro USB cables. It doesn't come with the power supply plug so you need to plug it into your phone charger. At this price you'd think it should just come with a plug!!How does it sound? Fantastic. Absolutely awesome. Cable freedom and a relatively low cost. Yes it's 179$ but that's a fraction of the cost of a pro setup. And you can use any existing mic you already own. There is no descernable delay .... It feels like wired setup. Perfect for live small gigging. If you're going to record, just wire it... But for hobby live gigging and jamming, you really have cable freedom here. Know it's limit's and you're going to be happy with it.
